Today, we-re going to take a look at how the government plays a role in the economy. Specifically, the way the government creates and maintains our market economic system. Now sure, the government-s role in the economy can be controversial, some may even say completely unnecessary. But there are some deficiencies in a free market, and we-re going to look at those, and the tools the government uses to combat those issues in maintaining a healthy and stable economy

I don't know nothing about politics but this i do know you don't judge a country by how rich the richest people are. But how poor the poorest are on the same country so you politicians and very wealthy people of England look at the homeless and Beggars. And though you may think your rich you are wrong in your perception. And I I tell you all You English men. If you want make England great and an example to the world get your political and rich minds together and start from the bottom up. Otherwise Being so wealthy while your fellow country men are in poverty will be a Glory short lived. I am both rich & poor in nothing. Like an unknown humpty dumpty. Don't let other countries see England Throw their unfortunate children on the street So young boys turn to crime and young girls to prostitution. I will tell you this The Sun sees no man as rich or poor Only naked. .

Isn't the free market on the extreme side of a spectrum? People assume the free market is perfect because the people always have the last word. Assuming that a cheap alternative to a product will always pop up, or that workers will always revolt if conditions are not good enough. It's kind of like a socialist saying that communism is perfect because everyone is rich and everything is fair. Btw wasn't people owning slaves in the US a product of the free market? Regulations are necessary in order to protect a country's population from greed. Idk correct me if I'm wrong, this just popped into my head.

Well, well, well. PBS stands for -public-. something. No wonder you spouse a highly pro-government view. Obvious. Your take is very shallow and full of platitudes, that of course can only be applied in the US where people take too many things for granted and never question in any way, public education one example. It is funny that you rush to show private monopolies as an undesirable consequence of free market apparently without questioning the monopolistic essence and nature of everything government.

Why are we only getting the perspective of a pro-intervention presenter on here. The bias is unreal, with next to no mention of the negative impacts of government meddling. Can we get a laissez faire guy on here to at least discuss the positives of an actually free market? Then again, I suppose it-s to be expected that pbs is basically propaganda.

Something that pisses me off is when it is said that lead came out of gas because of lead in the atmosphere. That is not why. Lead was taken out of gasoline because it fouled catalytic converters that were put in cars to reduce carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons. It was a happy coincidence that lead in the atmosphere was reduced too.

There's a real need for spirit. -The need is very great, everywhere in the world-for a true spiritual awareness to pervade and motivate peoples- lives. No amount of administrative procedure or adherence to rules can take the place of this soul-characteristic, this spirituality which is the essence of Man. - - Baha'i Faith

Explain how the free market economy brought about the global spread of hyper-consumerism. Explain also its effects on the ff: the deteriorating state of our environment, socio-cultural values, political climate, and in the individual-s life satisfaction rate.
Pls answer my question for my hw tnx:

Showing what the state does isn't the same as showing that it's functions aren't neither unnecessary or replaceable via the market/voluntary association. Not to mention that the economy works internationally already- ie without a universal authority.

It's funny when they show you this in school it comes across very boring, and once you're out all of this becomes very interesting. The american education system is garbage. No wonder children no longer thirst for knowledge.

I always felt that Owning was just a fancy word for -leasing from the government-. Sure, it's yours. But if the government needs your land, they'll write you a check and boot you out. Countries may vary.
