Today, we-re going to talk about the gaming devices that combine the screen, speakers, controls, and computer into one neat little package - that-s right we-re talking about handheld game consoles. Handhelds have actually been around since the mid 1970s, and they-ve made some incredible strides within the past few decades from blinking lights to glasses free 3d and even console-equivalent graphics. But even with their early successes their future isn-t so certain. The early market saw the rise of Nintendo, Sony, and Sega, but has since been whittled down to just to Nintendo. And although the Game Boy, and Nintendo DS handhelds have sold incredibly well, mobile gaming seems to be eating away at Nintendo-s market. Want some Crash Course Games merch? The Game Gear was just as power hungry as the Nomad. Also took 6 batteries and didn't last very long. My parents refused to keep buying betteries for it so I always had to use it with the AC adapter which defeated the purpose of a handheld, in my opiniion. At least it had a backlight and bright colors, making it way easier to see than even the Game Boy Color, which came out several years later. Nintendo dropped the ball on that part. I'm still surprised at Nintendo for that.

Nintendo Gameboy Color was my first nintendo console. I did actually have a Sega Game Gear before that though. =p
Then again, I was on the black side of the console wars for most of my childhood, genesis does what nintendon't and all that.

Game boy advanced could be linked directly into the Crystal Chronicles game you say?
Literally all I used that link for, but man, was it worth it (although maybe my parents didn't feel the same way: P)

I had a Nintendo ds lite and I loved that thing. I played with my nintendogs and virtual cats and my pet shop. I really like animals

Sony has been completely incompetent when it comes to marketing the Vita, and it's a damn shame, because it's a fantastic handheld.
