So, the stars made the elements, we're all made of star stuff, etc. But what does all this mean? This week Emily Graslie teaches you how the formation of chemical elements in the bellies of the earliest stars made life as we know it possible. Namely, we'll be learning about lowly carbon, which it turns out, is kind of a superhero when it comes to the rise of complexity

6. 30ish. You say that these trees where protected from rotting, HOW exactly, then you went on to say this became coal, this bit ican understand, but how can u protect so much vegitation from rotting, could it b possible that all vegitation didnt rot becuase the microbes responsible for decay werent around at that time or would that mean that the neutriants cudnt get recycled so nothing would carryon growing, im confused can any1 directed me to someother sources of facts or theories relating 2this

Pls Enter Credit To Continue. .. ,Oh priceless, pls pls pls be this 1 lol, just 2whitness the look on ever1s faces.

Phosphoros - 800 grams
Salt - 250 grams
Saltpetre - 100 grams
Sulfur - 80 grams
Chlorine - 7. 5 grams

5: 29 I wondder how they do the mathematics, if we are almost water and for each water molecule the ratio of Hidrogen vs Oxygen is 2: 1, respectively, how they say that we are 65% oxygen and 10% hydrogen? (I'm Confused, could anyone have a reasonable explanation)

Wait, how can diamonds be electrical insulator and thermal conductors? If something is a good electrical insulator it should also a good thermal insulator because heat and electricity are both transported by electron movements in the material.

I understand that there are worries about the environment, but with clean coal technology we can still use coal for industrial applications and not pollute the earth.
Oh, wait.

Is there any reason to think that carbon is the only substrate of life? There is silicon based life on earth. Why limit our thinking about life anywhere? That very anthromocentrick.

Oil also gives the money to some brutal regimes like the Saudi or Omani royal families to dole out handouts which keeps enough people happy enough that their regimes can continue.

The cut of this video is kinda off, every scene transition is flickering. Its as if there are one or two frames too much between each transition.
