Holy crap, this was an amazing introduction! I can't wait for the next episode. It says a lot when the introduction nearly makes you cry.
On a related note there's a REALLY amazing book I want to recommend, Darkest America, From Slavery to Hip-hop. It's about how while minstrelsy and blackface aren't present in their original form, they still exist in the caricatures that Black artists and performers have to play into to be accepted by society (look at John Baptiste on Steven Colbert for example, the dude graduated from Julliard with honors.

This is sounds amazing! I was in a discussion with someone a few days ago who said, -systemic racism is a farce- and honestly had no idea of the Jim Crowe laws that were instituted after slavery, or the exclusion from New Deal programs, or exclusion from housing programs in the 1980s, or the disparity in the criminal justice system, etc. This series is so needed right now!

I can only hope this trend continues. think of all the possibilities! Chinese history, Egyptian history, Australian history, Brazilian history, South African history, Japanese history. and on and on and on! Basically I just want crash course to cover every place/topic and go on forever.

I'm a high school history teacher, and I am super glad this series is finally being made. That being said, I'm a white male that teaches in a predominantly white school. I want to teach this course, but I know that I'm not the right voice to do it. Should I still go forward?

I am so, so excited for this series. As an American, I didn't learn enough about Black history in school, even though it's so much more important to our society than the European history we often focused on. Thank you, thank you for offering this education to us.

Cant wait for the lesson on the Harlem Renaissance, how Reconstruction almost gave us (actually did for a few years) Black politicians in the 1800s, and just culture in general! Lol just a Latino watching in support will def rewatch 100 times

Im really glad there is going to be 50 episodes (since it could have been less) but disappointed there wont be more because id totally watch as many episodes were made of this (even if it got into the thousands, might just take me a while)

I have a question about the term African American. My good friend is from the Bahamas/Jamaica. Are these islands' indigenous peoples Black, or is this a result of the Atlantic slave trade, and their heritage traces back to Africa?

Extremely excited for this! I mean. it-s Crash Course History, but I really want to learn and see more about American history and perspective that doesn-t get enough exposure. Thank you and looking forward to this!

Why are there any significant dislikes this is one of the least controversial videos I have ever seen, like even white moderates should not be mad at basic agreeable notions Clint said.
