we look at chiller types and refrigerant compressor cooling technology within HVAC commercial refrigeration and provide an overview guide on when and where each chiller type is used. This covers air cooled chillers and water cooled chillers, centrifugal compressors, turbocor compressors, screw compressors, scroll compressors, reciprocating compressors, absorption chillers. We look at both vapor compression and vapor absorption chillers. How chillers work and the basic working principle of each

I had a 3 floor medical office building that used air cooled, which were located on the top floor. Unfortunately there was a IT employee that was right under the compressor/condenser of her 3rd floor office, she called me to find out what it was I thought she was exaggerating the noise as I stood I. The doorway, however as I approached her desk area to investigate I noticed the resonance was indeed very loud, Simple solution move the desk across the room. She was satisfied.

I have not worked on these chillers directly, but I have gotten to do some work in a central utilies plant that used 6 or 7 of them to handle cooling for several downtown buildings. I'm not sure what the actual heat load they can handle is, but I do know the compressor on each chiller has a 1750 Hp (1300 kW) motor. It's crazy seeing how heating and cooling works at such a large scale!

I have a question. is there any way that I could connect the air chiller on my home refrigerator and dump the heat that it ejects into the cooling loop of my ground source heat pump, so I'm not dumping hot air into the kitchen and adding load that the AC must then deal with? It would also keep my refrigerator cooler in the summer.

2: 46 at State 1: I'm having trouble understanding why the refrigerant is low temperature. Since it's absorbing heat from the water in the evaporator wouldn't the refrigerant exiting the evaporator be medium/high temperature?

Just an FYI, you guys spelled typically as typically on your video in the chiller types and applications explained section. You misspelled it three times. Just thought I'd let you know, so you can make the correction.

How do we find the coefficient of performance for vapor absorption chillers?
For instance if a vapor absorption chiller has capacity of 800 ton and consumes 21kw of electricity then what would be its COP?

Really great video. I have a project on a screw compressor used in an air cooled chiller and this video was a great starting point in understanding the equipment. Looking forward to watching more videos!

Great video. Is it possible for you guys to produce a similar graphic video on chilled water pipe work, components and principles such as control valves, by pass valves, and actuators

make a video on how water tower water loop is kept clean.
is it cleaned by chemicals or centrifugal forces?
because evaporation must have left the remaining water highly concentrated.

Its crazy how i learned about chillers doing security letting them in the top floor. Now im studying to be a building engineer. You look at buildings different when you know them inside out.

Phenomenal presentation. I m a PhD student and I have a presentation to do on Solar Absorption chillers, can you help me with the animations you used in this video?
Thanks; )

my man works on this and when he was explaining with passion I was ahhh let me what he's talking about and I must congratulate u all who work on this u doing great

why are air-cooled chillers only available upto 450 TR. is it because screw compressors are not available beyond 450 TR. or is it due to some other constraint?
reply

Excellent video. Can you make a video how to calculate ACFM (actual cubic feet per minute) of an air compressor?
Please keep on educating us.

Or like my building where I have 12 200 ton rooftop units ranging from screw compressor to semi-hematic compressor and tandem scroll compressors

I wonder if you could use the blower fan in conjunction with the new type of co2 scrubber using the blower technology already?

engineering mindset. what ever you have done is great. help us one more on calculating the cfm, fpm. Of AHUs, DUCT and ROOMs

Hie guys, I've got a query here with the chiller displaying( I OFF) What does this mean &how do I resolve the issue.

Would you put a high pressure chiller on a lower floor or basement of an occupied office building, hospital, school?

can you please tell me that what kind of a chiller can we use for cooling water for bathing purposes or say a gym?
reply

Thank you. You are doing great. All my concept about chillar and HVACs are becoming clear thank you so much guys

I'm so blessed finding this site so easy to understand the information I thank you for your knowledge and time
