A battery charger that connects 4 cells in parallel willy-nilly, leaving the user with the responsability of properly discharging the cells prior to putting them in the charger in order to avoid over current events seems like a bad product design to me.

The real money the company makes from you must be some kind of subscription based mailed separator plastic, as that will surely be lost or ripped right after a use or two.

Personally I've moved on to NiZn 1. 6V AA cells. Especially the ones that have a built-in USB C port. I just keep charged up spares around and swap those in when it's time.

the toggle switch labels should be on either sides of the button
it reads like one side (columns) is nimh and the other lion batteries. bad cost cutting there

reply

What exactly would you need the separator for
Is the charging circuit discharging the batteries if you leave them in the box and the box beeing disconnected

reply

It’s a very nice idea but since you’re a diy guru what don’t you convert those small devices to lithium and usbc charging for example!
reply

It does raise a valid question here in the comments, how do you ensure equal charge levels Is each battery charged seperate instead of blocks
