Fresh from his great victory at Austerlitz, Napoleon's next campaign saw him take on Prussia in the autumn of 1806. Prussia's army had been feared throughout Europe since the days of Frederick the Great, but in just 5 weeks of 'Napoleonic Blitzkrieg', the French Emperor showed that those days were long gone. Louise: Napoleon promised to give Hannover to us, but then offered it to the British. We must go to war
Frederick Wilhelm: what is it with you and going to war?
Louise: want is it with you and being a cupcake! Go to war!
Frederick Wilhelm: ok

IIRC the problem was Napoleon's order to Bernadotte was ambiguous. Instead of 'Go here and support him' the order said '/If/ you're with X do Y' leaving Bernadotte the ability to say he wasn't with X, when he actually was but didn't like X.

Gotta give credit to napoleon for not sitting in comfort in his palace after becoming emperor. Dude was still out there leading his army to the end.

Great video. A bit inaccuracy that the Holy Roman Empire didn't founded by Charlemagne but by Otto I. in 962, who was the first Holy Roman Emperor.

6: 02 That's not a name. A cat walked across the keyboard and the narrator dutifully read the resulting script.
