How WWII and Vietnam Veterans Were Treated Differently - History rogan: Well, we have to keep in mind that WW2 vets probably did -questionable- things over in Europe and the Pacific, just like in Vietnam, only camera footage then, in the early to mid 40s, was not as good as compared to the footage in Vietnam. So, therefore, in retrospect, I feel like, in my opinion, the mistreatment and disrespect the Vietnam veterans had when coming home from Vietnam was unjust.

What they didn't realize was while they where at home living comfortably knowing all was well, the troops they called -baby killers- etc were on the battle field 24/7 in constant fear of stepping on a booby trap or being shot and killed out of nowhere. They obeyed orders, they weren't bloodthirsty. None of them wanted to be there. So they have no right to disrespect our vets.

Imagine literally avoiding getting terrible diseases, terrifying snakes, spiders, enemy soldiers literally hiding underground trying to shoot your feet and horrible, horrible traps all around you to come home expecting a warm welcome but instead your spat on my a hippie and your wife breaks up with you and kicks you out of the house for being a 'baby killer'

People never get the full story, if America left Vietnam in 1973, then why were there still American casualties until April 29, 1975? The first American was killed in July 1959, that is 16 years not 10. And if you weren-t there, then shut up because you know nothing of what it was like. Many of you are going to be offended by this, but I don-t care.

The college kids who spat on returned servicemen were spared from conscription themselves. That behaviour got broadcast to the rest of the world and here in Australia was copied by leftie activists.
Just as recently statues were destroyed in other countries because it was seen in the media.
Idle hands and the media are a bad mix.

very sad. i feel so bad for VIETNAM VETS most of whom were drafted, and with all that they went thru in Vietnam just to survive (NO ONE WILL ever feel, and only to come home (IF THEY MADE IT HOME - or if KIA nobody would know they even existed) to a place where they were degraded and hated.

In 1971 we were ordered not to wear our uniforms off base unless our job (such as a recruiter) required it. It seems our presence with our medals upset the locals (considering the amount of employment the locals had at that base). something 50 years later I can't forget.

I'm a Vietnam Veteran. I try not to think about the way we were treated consciously, because I have a life to live, but deep down inside, I'm still very angry about this. I will never forgive this country or the people in this country for what they did to us.

I can understand feeling sorry for Vietnam vets, but what should anyone thank them for? Vietnam was never interested in any conflict with the US, the Americans were the invaders, and the Vietnamese were justified in defending their country

For those wondering why everyone that defecated all over soldiers returning home from Vietnam were seemingly all college students, I suggest looking up Yuri Bezmenov, he'll tell you all you need to know.

and we are now experiencing the end result of leaving Vietnam, communism right here in our administration, subversives that called themselves hippies and have infiltrated all branches of government

Murder is murder. Hard to pity people like that. It wasn't all of our troop but still a good portion that committed atrocious in the name of freedom; ironic. Side effect of being brainwashed

They never should've went to Vietnam. The ones who weren't drafted had a choice and they chose to go kill for a government that didn't even care about them. I wouldn't call them heroes.

It's quite the shame that America whoever was running it at the time didn't clear it up for the folks so it wasn't a bloodbath on their own country seems awful conspiracies

American sure likes to repeat history. First vietnam now afghanistan. What is the point of all that money and equipment when you still end up being useless.

What happened to veterans that returned home after Vietnam wasn-t anything new to black GIs. They been getting that same treatment since WWI.

People, your enemies are NOT across the pond, they are in your government! I am more sick and tired in covering for them. Illuminati PIGS!
