Ciao to you too, but I didn’t get your name. Anyway as a member of boom demografico growing up in the 1950s and 60 Toronto Canada, I’ve heard all of that before. You see my father was a barber owning his own shop, so after school starting from my age of five to fourteen I was forced to go to the barbershop afterschool and stay until the shop closed at 7: 00pm. during that time the shop radio was on and set on Johnny Lombardi Italo-Canadian CHIN station. CHIN played old beloved Italian songs like, Calabria Mia, Torna a Surriento and so on, while the customers talked about their village, farms, and friends they left behind in the old country. Even as a boy I could see the rivalry between these men from all over Italy, north, south, and in-between, so like I said I’ve heard it all before in my personal school of hard knocks. I learned to hate all of it especially CHIN, Jonny Lombardi, and barbershops, so when The Beatles showed up on a real Top hit radio station, CHUM 1050 Toronto, and soon after on the cover of the CHUM chart, well it’s impossible to express my joy. Needless to say my father hated the capelloni Beatles, so once I heard on my transistor radio CHUM playing Penny Lane so I switched the barbershop radio station from CHIN to CHUM playing Penny Lane, my father liked the lyrics of the song, even though it was in English, (barber) mentioned over and over while I laughed at it all, until the fast talking DJ said The Beatles #1 this week on CHUM 1050 Toronto, were the #1 station in Toronto. Well let’s just say a Ferrari car was slow compared to how I ran out of that barbershop! By the by I’m never late, I talk quietly because loud voices can be heard by enemies, and I do not express myself with my face or hands when I talk, that gives away too much information that may get me into a fight, unless I want to fight.

Northern Italians need to get over themselves
The South wasn't given the same economic opportunities
Northern Italians migrated for reasons of post-war poverty just like the Southerners did
And the many Northerners I know were poor farmers before they migrated

I am really impressed with the quality of the English subtitles! Each one sounds really natural to an English ear.
