Facebook Interview Puzzle Two Cubes Calendar Logic Questions Asked At Facebook Interviews
video description
Damm! I got it right without watching the solution, but u must have also mentioned it beforehand that we can't arrange both the cube as -only one at the table and one exactly behind it hiding it's front face - I got this as my first answer but as soon as you told it is not the way I instantly pause the video and started to think it again.
Great puzzle as always ---

I think one cube needs to have 0, 1 and 2 and next cube should have simply repeated numbers 1 and 2. Now two cubes altogether have 7 rooms for rest of numbers from 3 to 9 which is 7 out of 12 spaces. As there is no date like 00, there is no need of placing 0 in both cubes.

There is another way to solve it
You can put 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 on one cube and 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9 on the other
For making 10 we can put 0 on the left and for making 01 we can put 0 on the left. This works because we don't have to make the day 00 as it doesn't exist

Couldn't work this out in my head, but once I made a table on paper it was easy. Got momentarily stumped with the apparent lack of 1 more face for the digit 9, and then it clicked. -
Cube A - 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Cube B - 0, 1, 2, 6, 7, 8

There is a problem with the solution.
-Everyday you arrange BOTH the cubes-
So the numbers other than 0, 1&2 must be placed carefully. so that we need to arrange both the cubes Everyday (0, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8)&(0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7)

I tried to work it out before looking at your solution and I got
1 2 3 4 5 6 and 1 2 7 8 9 0
I said that you couldn't turn the 6 upside down to get 9
and you only need two 1 and 2 faces. and only one 0

I would have said 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9. No-one said anything about you can't have one cube hidden behind the other. Besides, not everyone writes a 9 as an upside-down 6.

Having double 0 makes no sense.
He can replace one 0 by 9 then interchange the cubes when needed, since the puzzle does not indicate that the cubes must stay in their respective spots

What about using 6 based counting system?
Think outside the box. :)
(-6- mean -0-)
Day 0 = -00-
Day 1 = -01-
Day 2 = -02-
Day 6 = -10-
Day 35 = -55-

Bro I literally loved the puzzle. The only mistake I did was I didn't took zero on two of the dices-I took numbers 1-6 on one dice and numbers 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 0 on other dice

This puzzle is cool: I found this solution:
Cube 1: 0 1 2 3 4 5
Cube 2: 0 1 2 6 7 8
9 can be represented by the face of the cube with 6 just upside down -

0-5 in one cube, 7, 8, 9, 0, 1, 2 in another so you can show 01, 02, 03 etc. When it comes to 6, just place the second cube showing 9 and invert it to show 6

You make a lot of mistakes in your videos
You said we can show the numbers 01 02 03 04 05 06 and 08 yet you never said 07
Why can't you show 07?

Craftsmen already use this old-style two-cube calendar since I was a kid decades ago. Can probably buy them from novelty stores.

We don-t need 2 - 0s. Instead of flipping 6 for 9 we can replace one of the 0s with a 9 and interchange the box when required.

If 3, 4, 5, are placed on 1st cube, how can u show the date 23 or 24 etc because u can't interchange the cubes right?

You dont need 0 on both cubes because no date requires 2 0s. 0-5 on 1 and 126789 on the other would work just fine

What was need of zero on both the cubes? There is no chance to use 00 right, So we can place 9 instead of 0 right?
