How to write syncopated rhythms. Syncopated rhythms add a great deal of interest and character to a piece of music but when should we write them and how do we write them? This music composition lesson shows two very different musical contexts, one by Bach and the other by Scott Joplin. Having explored the effectiveness of the syncopation in these two works the video goes on to look at a short passage of music and shows you how to revolutionise the impact of it through the addition of syncopation. Brilliant. When you changed the rhythm/melody to quavers it was fine. But when I heard the final syncopation I thought you were playing quavers again, as the notes on the beat seam to make it appear that way. If this was arranged for others instruments, then would it make the syncopation stand out more. Thanks in advance. PS I could hear the syncopation on the 2nd listening!

- Who is Gareth?
-I think he-s the one who knows all about what to do and how to teach the Theory.
I assume, the word -Theory- originates from the name-s of your ancestors.
