My friends ditched me without any explaination or closure, creating another group within themselves and hanging out without me after 4 years of sticking togehter. Up till now I have no idea what went wrong. Initially there were 5 of us, and 3 of us were in the same group for this final project.
Over the years, I've worked with them and though there were disagreements, I tried to give the benefit of the doubt. We were good until final semester of university. We then had to choose our groups for a project; and as friends we definitely chose each other. I would always put my 110% in my academics, and try to encourage my friends to do work. On the other hand, one of my coursemates would keep getting pissed at them because they would not communicate and do their part of the work. I was pit to the post as a result. Subsequently, due to the machinery being constantly down and my teammate being sick, I asked for help for the next day to do the project together with me. Nobody reciprocated and came to do the other project at a later timing (which I had to as well. It left me extremely frustrated. Eventually my professor found out as he makes regular visits to the lab and as much as I wanted to cover for my friends, it was rather evident at the point as a coursemate from another group (not part of my friend group) kindly gave me a hand which i'm extremely grateful for. :-) I had this discussion with a fellow friend (part of the group) and she said that she 'basically gave up on school altogether so she's giving her bare minimum because the grades didn't matter anymore. I felt that it was a rather self-centered act but I can't do anything at that point but just try and encourage until the project was officially over.
There was another incident whereby I accidentally splashed water on one of my friends (not in my project group) while washing the cutlery. Despite apologizing to her, she reciprocated by saying this: that's not very nice of you. I was gobsmacked but I kept my cool.
Until today, I did not receive any form of communication from any of them (2 of whom i'm still on good terms with. They hung out without me and some posted it on social media. I was extremely heartbroken because though I could sense the animosity, there was no closure. It was flat out ghosting. It eats me alive every passing day. I reflected on my end and perhaps I might have said some hurtful things or might have used a harsh tone, but I always held myself accountable for my actions and words.
My graduation is in 2 months and I am so reluctant to go. My other friends from the course knew about it but they still persuaded me to go. what should I do? Am I at fault for my actions? Was I being a fake friend? I really don't know at this point.

I dunno but I have this friend that claims that I am her best friend forever, and I care for her a lot.
But nowadays when I wanna just chat about what should be our common interests with her, shes very absent, or just ignores the messages about it completely to send something else.
Granted maybe its the fact that they have ADHD and autism and are still job-hopping and have yet to settle down in a job of their liking that may stress them out, but I just get the feeling that I wish they at least acknowledged what messages I sent.
Like there are times I send a how are you? or ask about something she mentioned that happened recently, and shell never reply to it. Only recently did she try to start replying, even if its so much as a few messages.
I also feel that maybe due to the fact that I have almost no friends irl, I may however be trying to seek too much attention from her, who I view as one of my dearest friends?
I dunnoIm not sure if my worries are legitimate or if Im being a terrible friend wanting too much attention from her.
We became friends at 19 back when we were still at school, separated by a 12 hours timezone. Back then we messaged non-stop for hours.
Now after 4 years, due to circumstances, I am still trying to study at a university, while she has started work. Sometimes it could go for months without messages about our interests, and Id be sending one-way messages that never get any acknowledgment.
(Shell claim months later saying she likes my info dumps for our interests, but I only did so, hoping for her to respond to it but to receive no responses for months whatsoever regarding those messages)
Could it really be just me not understanding about how work life might do to friendships, or is her ghosting really a bit too much?

i was a fake friend before. when i was in 6th grade a had a friend that had physical and mental disabilities, and i didnt care, well, until the year started. everyone in my classes were making fun of her of her disabilities. me that always cared about what other ppl think, i was scared to be bullied so guess what, i was the bully. i started making fun of her in so many different ways. i started telling secrets to all of my friends, and they also made fun of her. when the school year ended it was summer, and during that summer my mom wanted to talk to me. she asked, why dont you talk to your friend anymore? she rly misses you and shes sad your not talking to her anymore. i rolled my eyes and said idk. shes js kinda gross to me. my mom asked, what does she do. i said everything that grosses me out about her. then my mom said you need to understand that she cant help it. yk that she has physical and mental problems. so why dont you think about it. i started thinking about it and then i went to say sorry to her for everything ive done. we started talking again on call. but i still havent told her the reason why i bullied her.
hope you enjoyed my true story!

My friend that I somehow still cant get rid of shes fake and toxic and even her other friends say that they think shes toxic shes basically a drama magnet and is the most dramatic person ever Ive been trying to ignore her but im worried that Ill just go back to her again because I dont have a bunch of friends to hang out with and shes my neighbor and our moms are friends and UGH every time we hang out she starts drama and then like a week later she comes back and acts like nothing happened the week before and this happens all the time and she never wants to talk about it because it causes too much stress to talk about it for her but really she just doesnt want to communicate about it - I want to get rid of her but its hard because Ive shared my secrets with her and been friends with her for about 5 years like one day after five years of being friends I just say I dont want to be friends anymore like nahhh - if anyone has any tips on how to help that would be greatly appreciated

1: 44 reminder: someone may seem like theyre exaggerating and constantly getting into things, but some people genuinely just attract drama because of how naive they are (like i am, a lot of the time. and i personally may seem like im exaggerating, but im very sensitive- and to a lot of people, i can come across like that. even when i say things like idk i could be wrong. i also have terrible anxiety and have been through a lot, so it could come across like that or like im being paranoid. a lot of these have a point to them, but like i saw someone else in the comments say, its important to take them with a grain of salt. you should always think hard about it, before you go applying it to people in your life (and therefore, ruin or break off whatever kind of relationship you have with said person as a result.
(btw, sorry if this isnt very coherent. its currently almost 5 am and i havent slept at all, so im tired lol)

I really really dont wanna believe any of these, it hurts so bad because I thought of a very close friend that has seen me at my worse, Ive cried to her over countless times, Ive know her since 4th, she was my first friend, she was my only friend, she always stood up for me, but then I noticed, she began to come most of these(except her not being there for me she was always there, however it also seems like shes always making the effort, we dont talk much unless we are in person bc neither of us like talking over the phone, but when we get together its perfect, wether its going on a walk together or just chilling at each others house. So idk shes like a sister to me, but it feels like shes love bombing me sometimes, she also gives me a lot of mixed signals Ive noticed but never thought of bc we are both touchy ppl I just dont know anymore

Im the one way friend lol. My x reached out to me a couple months after they broke up with me. It was because they missed me and wanted to talk. After that we became friends again. Things were good until they all of a sudden stopped messaging me, and never has time to hang out anymore. I came to a realization that Im always the one trying to hold the friendship together.
It turns out that they have made new friends and just sort of ghosted me in a way. The other day I asked them if they were available to hang out. I got the short response no. Which is unusual since theyd normally tell me why they cant hangout. That was my sign to end the fake friendship soon.

I had this friend who wasn't there for me when I needed them, and I put so much effort into the friendship. On top of that, they were manipulating me for years, and I didn't know until early last year. After we had a huge argument, I dropped them, and they started messaging me non-stop until late April of this year. They couldn't put themselves in my shoes and tried to use emotions to get me to be the way they wanted me to be, which was against everything that I believed in. Now, I'm trying my best to rebuild myself, which is hard on my own, but I'll hopefully make it one day.

I've ended a friendship a few months ago. That guy just didn't respect boundaries. For example I visited him once. He wanted to play mortal combat but I told him that I've got blood phobia and that game is to brutal for me. He turned it on anyway and that was very uncomfortable. Or he liked to talk about politics, even though we agreed to not talk about that topic, because our oppinions are incompatible.
So one day when he wrote me something, I told him that our paths should separate. He didn't like that very much, but on the bright side, I haven't heard of him since

After having watched this, I thought back to when I was at school. I thought I was friends with almost everyone in class, probably because I was the nice kid. Turns out they really weren't, but they were just nice to me. Though that doesn't bother me anyway. I can't really recall any other times I've had any fake friends. Then again, I haven't fully experienced the outside world yet, but I will very soon.
(also, is that a Mean Girls reference I see in the thumbnail? Just thought I'd point it out because no one else seems to have done so lol)

Need some advice, I have a friend who is a diagnosed psychopath but Im one of the only ones in my friend group that knows, the friend talks abt everyone behind their back, prob including me, and is incredibly 2 faced, she pressures my other friends to do thing they dont want to and because of her manipulativeness she end up being a horrible influence like making them drink or get high and steal and vandalize, Im the only one that sees how toxic and unsafe she is tho, how do I approach my other friends abt this

i have a fake friend, and it was pretty disappointing, especially after we had been friends since kindergarten. she had found these girls and decided to be friends with them, which was fine, but in that whole class year and the next, we had barely talked, and whenever I asked to be partners with her in a project, she constantly said sorry, no, Im gonna be partners with [ girl ] and, I realized that if she wasnt going to speak to me, then why bother talk to her anyway.

Had friends of 20 years and called them sisters but when life went downhill and I started letting them into the truth of my situation, they accused me of always being negative with them and wanted to hear about the positives in my life. This was at a time where homelessness loomed and I struggled to feed my family.
It's not that I was talking too much about negatives, its that they couldn't handle being supportive and available during crisis.

Im a very social person, but i sometimes think that i might not be a good friend, and its hard forvme to tell, cause i have a hard time communicating with my friends, have an anxiety for what im going to say to them, i don't wanna ask too much of them, but i dont wanna distance myself from them. But i do it anyways. I can never really tell if im a good friend or not, relationships are teally hard for me to understand and maintain.

I have 2 friends. Anytime I talk they interrupt me, constantly, even if its important. They dont care what I have to say and only seem to have fun around each others. Maybe its because theyve know each other longer?
