I’m GenX. Love that we’re being kept out of the Generation War.
That said, I’m firmly aligned with the GenZ And millennials. And I also remember the folks of the silent and greatest generations. It does seem to me that my generation (I’m at the tail end of GenX) and the boomers are consistently incredibly awful about almost everyone else. It’s not a uniform thing, not everyone is the same, but the tropes and bylines they seem to adhere to, as a demographic, appears to mostly be around othering, condescension and assumption that they had it worse.
Meanwhile nobody can afford anything, for example. Hmm.
As for millennials and especially GenZ, I’ve never met a group of people more engaged with the world around them and it’s issues and challenges. I love to see it. Again, it’s not everyone, nobody is part of a monolith, but by and large, they seem to be less prone to complacency and more willing to tackle difficult subjects and tasks. It’s a bravery I really like to see.

I'm glad I lived through the early 2000s where the whole point of young people was to be young. Nowadays, it repels me seeing a person of my age that's not capable of proper communication without a phone, who supports obviously harmful ways and has no sense of responsibility. On the other hand, I don't believe the older generations are saints. It really feels like couples from 20th century intended to spawn kids as a stress relief from job, rather then raising them as their successors. Lack of guidance is one factor, but older generation can't really teach every up-to-date stuff, since they're not experienced or deliberately avoid it. I hope there'll be a period where older generation can flawlessly pass the torch to the young, so they can make them, themselves and their ancestors proud.

In my experience, I’ve met people from today’s generation that are very critical and judgmental. I’ve also met people from the older generation that could be like this. But, I’ve met people from the older generation, and the younger generation, who are kind, understanding, and willing to learn things. In my experience, it’s really the person. I’ve met some people in today’s generation that frowned upon things, like struggling, crying, and even quirkiness. I’ve heard about people from today’s generation that don’t take mental health seriously. I’m sure it’s even happened in the older generation too. I don’t doubt that for a minute.

Young people today are not disciplined, feel entitled to everything, and the majority never worked a day in their life.
However, some of the parents are to blame for their children being weak. example, a wealthy mother pays rent, bills, food, etc. For her 32 year old son, his 31 year old wife, their 2 year old. and now wife is pregnant again. and wealthy grandma is about to stroke out bc she is now raising a whole different family all over again. bc her son is too depressed to work, too out of shape to get a job. put the wife through school, but her too too depressed to work. yup, true story. we are doomed bc of cycles like this continue.

All I can say to the young generation are weak comment, is that there is a problem in a society where I can make more money working for myself mowing yards, than I can make working as an electrical engineer. That is what kind of job conditions we are facing now. Level 1 EE: 65, 000K a year. Mowing yards in my area in comparison I can charge a contract price and average 60 dollars an hour. That is roughly 120, 000 a year if I work a 40-hour week. Ponder on that. I also see very few boomers on jobs really working physically harder that the younger generation. They boss people around more, but they don't actually ever do more. In my experience.

I’m a baby boomer and growing up I learned that I didn’t always get what I wanted. If I wanted something I had to earn it. I also learned that you had to work your way up the ladder when it came to a job. I didn’t expect instant gratification. I didn’t spend like there was no tomorrow so I never went into debt. If I could afford it and I needed it, I bought it otherwise, I went without. I was taught respect and manners which is greatly lacking in today’s world. All three of my kids are college graduates and we’re raised the way I was. They are successful and live independently. I’m proud of each and everyone of them.

Kids these days are putting up with shit that the older generations could only fathom. Peace and love to you younger kids out dealing with real social uncertainty and still being good kids. I mean even you young 20 year olds. Please do the work on yourselves now so we don’t end up with my damaged people. And honestly it’s these younger generations that see through our lies and the constructs we’ve built around ourselves. We should be listening to the kids. They know what the future needs because they’re a part of the future. Us old heads should simply be the shoulder to cry on and the hand that guides.

Every generation upgrades the next generation. Financially, spiritually, physically etc Old generations are upset because they found out the Hard way. They just weren’t wise enough at the time or didn’t have the tools. yet not wise enough. That’s an enemy tactic to be upset and degrade such because you went a different wayI can go on. This what keeps us as a whole behind. Being tugged on past times and ways: lets them generations GENERATE! All generations should just be adaptive to things going the right way. It only goes wrong because of lack of support.

I have a friend/co-worker (who's also a millennial) who doesn't like to work. All he does is walk around and talk on his phone all day. He has money problems and has been relying on me and our other friend to give him $50 here and there. He had a 2nd job but was laid off 4 years ago due to the pandemic. He could easily get a 2nd job to help his financial situation, but he doesn't want to work. He's 42 and is afraid to take care of business and do what he needs to do as a man to support himself. I feel that this is a lot of millennialls and Gen Zs.

Many boomers are delusional. Sorry young Gens but us Gen Xers had to deal with their hypocrisy since we were born. Being neglected & abused by older people was our norm. That’s why many of us don’t judge the younger gens & stay out of these so called wars. If you’re dealing with an X who is just as delusional, there’s a good chance they believe the older Gens & are now it didn’t turn out to lead them to salvation.
Younger gens are gonna save the world bc they don’t have a choice. Some of us are trying our best with you!

This entire argument and mental trauma is why I have chosen to kill myself. I can't live this life and constantly dissociate and no matter what I never feel happy. Nobody understands me and emotions are always valid. As the young generation we aren't as addicted to tech and rude as elders think and such thoughts trigger my brain day and night. I wonder about death and afterlife a lot and I watch horror movied and sad content. I lidten to sad songs because they represent my inner self and sometimes i take them way too seriously.

No, we're just not privileged enough to live in a time of respectful, mutual leadership where we get to stick our heads in the sand and pretend reality doesn't exist. There's no buying a house at 28, there's no working a balanced job, there's no getting a good education through little effort. Hell, apparently if your criticize the wrong employer nowadays you end up in a morgue.

As a millennial:
I hope that those in the younger generations know that it's okay to not have it all figured out. You're young. No one knows what they're doing. But someday, certain things will click and make sense. And you'll have a better sense of yourself.
Just surround yourself with people that make you happiest, and do things that bring you joy.
You'll be okay.

The younger generations are physically frail compared to mine. What I really do mean is that if a young man punched me, he is more likely to hurt himself than me, if he punches me hard it is more likely that his bones break than mine. It shouldn't be like that with people half my age. They are physically fragile, their bodies are weak and frail.

I am most baffled by the view that young people lack empathy. And how those seem to be coming from the SAME people who are annoyed how young people want to be more inclusive! You have no empathy, also, how dare you support that trans kid is SUCH a weird take!

I am slowly losing more hope every day and I feel very alone in it all. I wish I had someone's hand to hold, someone to understand me and tell me I will be okay. Now I'm just some loser who falls at everything. I make fun of myself just to be accepted.

4: 53 This is like saying two characters in a video game. One has 100 XP, the other has 10, 000 XP, are the same because they can both get to 10, 001 XP. While, they can both get there, one is far more likely to achieve it than the other is.

Oh! One more point! Hope for the Future. As a millenial with hopes for a more open and tollerant world in the start of the millenia was proven fatally wrong. Now it feels more like we're moving ever closer the the 1930s all over again.

For short, when you were there back then, you could work at Walmart and pay RENT, BILLS, AND GROCERIES.
You could now work at Walmart and not even talk about basic needs or you'd be probably fined for even thinking of that crap.

NEVER blame children for their flaws, it is ALWAYS the lacking of the parents. We abdicated being parents and let computers raise the children. It is hard to be totally ready for reality when a person is in a virtual world.
