I think emotional incest also is when you demand hugs and kisses from the child in your family. My mother still does this to my child and I always say he doesn't have too!
You're teaching your child that their physical boundaries don't matter and they have to make everyone happy with physical touch no matter if they want or don't want to just because they might make their family member sad
Which leads the child to being more susceptible to being SA.
Thanks for educating others but I rather don't watch the video because it might trigger me.
I'm so dumb for clicking it but I had to give my 50 cents.
Bye

I think the title scares people away to watch it. The content is nothing scary. It's the truth that can be seen in some societies, in some parts of the world.
I've seen mothers who have a son become possessive and cause problems between the son and daughter in law. Instead of being happy that someone will love their son and their son will never be alone with those who walk his way through life together.
Mothers want to have a life partner with eternal love. Sons also want it.
Oh, or not I don't know. I'm not a man, just guessing. I don't know what they want.

What's worse is if you grow up with BOTH parent's like this. Being extremely parentified, being the easy child, shoving your emotions and feeble understanding to keep up the facade of maturity because if you suddenly don't have some way to help them in moment you're NOW suddenly the immature child they shouldve never brought this up to and how terrible they are for doing so yet the next day doing it all over, simply because you honestly are only guesssing at how to respond in a mature and ultimately vague but supportive manner as a literal 8 year old.

They will offload all of their worries and problems on to you, even if you are their own child. They will make you their parent or caretaker. They will hold you accountable for everything, while not letting you have any power. Which really is a recipe for disaster. Because a person who is accountable for everything, but has no power, cannot correct anything. But this is exactly what they want. Because they want to run wild and free, doing whatever they please, without being held accountable for it. Just like a spoilt brat, an undisciplined child.

Hi Psyh2go,
Can you make a video tips with a title like How to handle people after unfriending them. Because the friend I had, made me cry on my birthday. After that, they ignored me. But there was one extrovert friend, she would glare, talk back and make disgust face at me. More information: The extrovert friend is one year younger than me.
I would really need tips to handle them. They’ve been hurting me mentally.
If you can, thank you.

Sigh. the fact that people don't even play devils advocate to anything is disheartening. Calling incest abuse while it can be, much like a punch to the face, it is not always abuse. Through out human history it has been a thing and you don't see those who do it getting divorced or such. How do you think humanity started Two humans. so at some base level all humans are related.

I was always in competition with my adopted mother. One memory I have is being grounded for a year for not saying goodnight or I love you when I went to bed. During that year I had to have one of my parents with me at all times. No privacy at all. I wasn't even allowed to shower without being watched. So this video has me wondering.

Well, this made me think. It explains alot about how my parents acted towards me. It felt like I was only there to make them happy and do things for them. They couldn't handle the fact that I was in other relationships and this caused alot of tension to the point where we just have no contact anymore.

NAW i JUST talked to myself yesterday like ey, when you’re a dad, don’t u dare make ur kid ur best friend. They need a parent ok It’s good to be honest and have a strong connection, but overwhelming trauma dumping on your own developing child will NOT enrich anyone’s lives.

It's crazy seeing how confused people are by the title when this in fact happens. it's more common for boys to experience this with their mom's. My husband's mom is like this with her sons and it nearly ended my marriage with my husband because his mother is emotional unhealthy

Holy shit, this is me. I always feel uncomfortable around my mom or dad. My mom always used to say I made you for me, that really confirms everything. There's so much I could write about my dysfunctional relationship with my mom (since my dad left me at age 9. I'm 34 years old now.

Of course, this as a child is wrong. It is however normal for you to care for your parents as an adult as they cared for you. Giving them advice on things in this changing world where you can responsibly do so. As an adult, be there for your parents if they were there for you.

I moved in with a friend and his family. Thought since i grew up without a any real parental figures that their closeness was normal, but always felt gross to me. No wonder. This describes half of the interactions between them. Minus the nudity thing.

There’s a case of Thai actor and actress who got in a relationship but the actor’s mom is quite jealous and sabotage their relationship until they had to end it. This word was brought up on the internet and we wonder if this is the case.

please take this seriously, take this as a learning experience to NOT do this to your kids if you choose to have any, it's a LOT more common than you think for parents to be predatory like this without anyone realizing

Why use such a loaded language Why not call it Parental-Child Dysfunction Disorder Not only is it more simple and understandable it also is not prone to the misunderstanding of having the word incest within the label.

Oooh I heard of this before. HBO's The Penguin characters of Oz and his mother is a great example.
Not sure if 'emotional incest' is the proper term to define it. idk. it's complex to say the least.

This title is going to be triggering and polarising - the people who need this information the most, may be put off, solely from this choice of phrasing
