All of this is bad advice from second-hand story-teller analysis. The way to tell a good story is to connect the physical and emotional experience of the audience with suspension of disbelief. You create pacing that doesn't allow the average audience member to get distracted, or, in the case of fire-side story telling, you use a visual medium of sufficient pacing to distract and calm. What story you tell, has no meaning. Primates sing. Just like birds do. Think about it. We learned to speak from a much older species. We stand on the backs of Dinosaurs. Literally.

Second, bulid tension, either curiosity relation without charactors or actual danger. Third, offer the right of details. If there's not enough, the story won't come to life. If there's not much, you will get bogged down. Fourth, end with satisfying conclusion. funny moving or surprising.
I THINK THE MOST DIFFICULE PART IS THAT WHEN WE OFFER THE DETAIL, IT CAN'T BE TOO MUCH OR LESS. YOU HAVE TO CONTROAL IT PROPERLY.

These things are particular to story telling during public speaking, not necessarily story telling in general. Just something to keep in mind. That being said, it is probably best if you make sure there's some meaning to the story in my opinion, even if it's fiction.

It seems simple, but it's hard to master. You'd be shocked how many submitted manuscripts and screenplays don't meet one of those three criteria.

Sadly, nowadays stories ARE full of lies, and people don't check facts anymore, and it leads to death, destruction, prejudice and hatred.

Story telling is basically the foundation of all the books, shows, movies and anime.
Basically entertainment content, be it a dark psychology story, funny story, crime thriller, etc

I've been seeing a lot of AI generated stories. They're too polished, too perfect. With little room for genuine human emotion, or imperfections.

I think this is conflating the idea that a story always has to have a meaning and a goal. A story can just be one thing. Entertainment.
