While comets were historically thought to be ill omens of war and famine, recent science has revealed that these celestial wonders actually contain amino acids, the building blocks of life on Earth. Justin Dowd explores the implications of this magnificent discovery. Lesson by Justin Dowd

The fact that the spectroscopic signature of both water and amino acids are to be found anywhere in the universe we point a telescope and not just in our local stellar environment is a far more thought provoking reality. Super massive black holes at the cores of galaxies spit out huge jets of material rich in both water and and the complex precursors of biology. Like a sprinkler spraying a nutrient rich dilute toward nearby clumps of hydrogen, both enriching and providing the energy for accelerated gravitational collapse, these black holes have sucked in the metaphorical DNA of their host galaxy and are ejaculating it out into the cosmos. It could itself be thought of as biology. And maybe it is. The Mandelbrot Set is not just a fascinating curiosity it is a description of a mathematical reality that governs our universe as profoundly as any facet of the standard model. Perhaps the dynamic certainties of chaos theory really need to be thought about a lot more when we consider our observations.

So we know a couple of things here, we know that it is possible for other planets to have conditions like there are here on earth (Liquid water, atmoshpere with greenhouse gases, rocky surfaces, and temperatures able to sustain life) we know that it is possible for this to happen, infact we already know of a few planets that are like this, even in our surrounding solar systems. NOW we know thaat admino acids are formed by comets, which admino acids are the building blocks of life and the first steps of single celled organisms. SO we have countless amounts of planets that can support life, we now know that the chemicals that begin life travel through space via comets and there are evne more countless amounts of comets in space. It is literaly Impossible for someone to deny the fact that SOMEWHERE ANYWHERE in space there is another planet out there that does not contain life, it is nothing short of impossible.

There is no method to to tell me that the farthest star is the oldest.
Vision is light motion independent i can see stars at their location, i don't need their lights reached me to see them.
How would i know that the farthest stars are ancient? - By their location and my observation location(the earth) and relative arrival time of their light to earth (to my eyes?
But, no, because i see the farthest as it is now independent of light motion and speed. In fact i don't need any of their light to reach me, i just see them at their location as they are now, regardless their distance, since stars are light. And i have no device to separate the lights of two neighboring farthest stars, so i am unable to measure the age of the farthest stars. In fact no one can do it either.

Im freaking out. Im such a huge space enthusiast. Idk why but Ive always been drawn to finding out about the universe, and the last line just struck me. Maybe we are indeed made of stardust and that is the reason why we want to venture out in space because that is where we came from.

According to scientists life can only exist in a goldie locks zone. The scientists also say anything is possible. Also seeing how we can't fathom how big space is, it would be foolish to think the only 'life' that exists is on Earth.

I really don't understand these life from space theories, why would you need something from space, if all you need for life is already were here at Earth, with the best conditions to preserve the life.

The Pluto jokes are just a waste of time now. If Ted-Ed moves past them and make jokes about new discoveries then we would have mnemonics for other facts and ideas.

even though I knew every inch of the information this video had, I have already watched it several times. Just for the mesmerising beauty with which it was animated.

It takes more than amino acids to create life. Water is probably the most important ingredient and that's home grown right here on Earth.

Really beautiful pictures, great and relaxing music, and a theory i've never heard of. Thank you again for letting us dream.
