Scientists have warned that as CO2 levels in the atmosphere rise an increase in Earths temperature by even two degrees could lead to catastrophic effects across the world. But how can such a tiny, measurable change in one factor lead to huge, unpredictable changes elsewhere? Victor J. Donnay uses billiards to illustrate tipping points, chaotic motion and their implications on climate change. Lesson by Victor J. Donnay

The more CO2 being transmitted into our atmosphere, the higher chance of catastrophic storms. Hurricanes and Tornadoes which are unstoppable to human capability will rip through coast lines and densly populated areas. So this is a huge issue! and it sucks that the governments that control how the world works take a huge part in this climatic change. What if all the presidents and world leaders went hippie and worked on planning for a greener planet with less burning of fossil fuels. Lol, our your dreams right? Just try it damnit!

what's the difference? we're all turds in the same bowl, waiting to see who gets flushed first, so really, what's it going to matter if a billion more kids die? billions have already died. humans are really just fleshy bags of water that could be put to better use.
oh & that 'natural' argument or 'as god intended' - that one's bullmess, too.
nature really likes extinctions- mass extinctions. better species than us will succeed where we continue to fail.
anyway, i'd take global warming over another ice age.

How does this explain an ice free artic 6, 000 yrs ago? Fail. Hysteria. The models are trying to measure something so small the error in just understanding the heating and cooling effect of clouds is way bigger than minute or possible zero effect of more CO2. CO2 is already absorbing almost all the heat it possibly can or ever will, no matter how high the concentration, ie its saturated as far as radiative heat absorption.

People should read the actual scientific papers on this topic. It's not the slightly higher temperatures that's the problem; it's the CLIMATE change that is the issue. Changes in all sorts of cycles, like migratory patterns, storm severity, flooding, etc. completely alter the way the natural world works.

but if earth's atmosphere is so complex then how can we ever predict how it will react? i know we can use computer simulations and test in a still room, but the atmosphere is fluctuating so much that no matter what models we use it will never be that accurate

It is a Biological Problem: we are spoilt by the last 5 000 years of stability. This era will come to an end even without us and change to something else, hot or cold. We may go extinct not because of the change - but by our stubborn Ignorance to face Nature.

This video didn't really help me at all. All it really said is that seemingly small changes can actually make a big difference but I (and most other people) already knew that. I wish someone would give me a more clear idea of what climate change might do.

So what is the problem here? Are we all concerned that humans might have a little less time to rape the Earth? If the climate is going fry us all I would rather it happens before we deplete the supply of fossil fuels.

Think of a plastic bag and throw all of the power plants in the world into that bag. It wouldn't fit inside the bag. This is why we're all going to die from climate change. Who needs facts when you have childish metaphor?
