May be Haishepsut had killed Thutmose II so she could take his place. May be Thutmose II was cruel to her and bad for the Egyptian dynasty and its prosperity so she killed her and took his place. May be she was very ambitious for power to rule as a pharaoh.

So you're saying destroying statues back then didn't help. I guess it made the folks feel better for a bit. Learn from history, sweeping perceived negatives under the rug inhibits growth.

There was already a female pharaoh called Sobekneferu before Hatsheput. And the vandalizing of monuments of pharaohs was a common occurrence.

2: 25 there is a story about a pharaoh destroying the statues of his mother, who had been pharaoh, after her death, I think.
