But MJ jumped not just high, but long, if he had tried to go just for height, he might have been in the air longer, applying more force to gain more speed since he doesn't need to be accurate, so the limit of 1 second to me, is just an approximate (as they claim in the video) based on the physics of most athletes, not the outliers.
