When under anesthesia, you cant move, form memories, or hopefully feel pain. And while it might just seem like you are asleep for that time, you actually arent. Whats going on? Steven Zheng explains what we know about the science behind anesthesia. Lesson by Steven Zheng

I was suppose to have a surgery as a child. The doctor put me on a table and gave me an injection saying it was medicine. Soon after she asked me if I wanted to sleep and that I should feel sleepy. When I told her I'm sleepy she showed me in this really cosy room with the bed made and comfortable. I went ahead and slept alone. When I wake up, I'm not wearing my regular clothes but a surgical gown. The room I was in was well lit and my relatives were all over the place, eating snacks and talking and all. I couldn't move much of my lower body. Turns out the surgery was done and my relatives were just using this as an opportunity to hang out lol

0: 33 or, hopefully, feel pain. you know, haha, I have asked myself, when I would hear people pain when very young doesn't matter because one will not remember it, I have asked myself if lack of memory of something makes it not a big deal. would it be fine to suffer, to burn slowly, for centuries, haha, as long as you won't remember it the day after your ordeal. I think most people would think not. what if we do suffer when under anesthesia and just don't remember it. Haha. I suppose his hopefully implies they're not sure we don't.

When I went into surgery for my leg, once I had changed and was in the hospital bed for them to roll me to the surgery room, they stuck an IV into my hand to keep me hydrated, as they rolled me to the surgery room I was pretty nervous. They got me on the metal surgeon table and I asked one of the nurses when I'd be getting some anesthesia and the nurse smiled and said You already got it and I replied Oooh, you're sneaky and then I was out. Next thing I knew I woke up in a different room and the surgery was complete.

I remember when I had to go to the dentists to get some of my cavities fixed, all I really remember was them giving me this strawberry ish flavored drink, and they told me to tell them about myself next thing I knew, we were at Jollibee ordering fries or something. I remember the fries being really REALLY hot cuz I tried to eat them with my teeth that had the crowns on them. It was also REALLY annoying when people would ask OmG u HaVe a gOld ToOth! when they would see the crowns on my teeth. Like B R U H

Nurse was just about to give me the anasthesia and says think about cocktails and beaches and sand
I was like: yeah that's nice
Man puts a mask on me
my last sentence: I don't wanna die. :)
Lady laughed and I got knocked out.
Woke up with the picture of my loved ones in my head and was/still am fascinated by how it's like a jump-cut from one moment to the next. It's amazing and scary at the same time. The nausea afterwards tho. holy macaroni

I have a surgery tomorrow and my fancy fearful theory is what if anesthesia worked different way, though I know people don't dream but what if I got a dream, and I woke up after anesthesia in my dream, spent few days, went home and then I wake up again(real this time. And what if I don't know if I'm still dreaming or I'm really awake. Hmm confusion stonks.

I had surgery on my legs and when they gave me Anesthesia the only thing I remember was arriving in the operating room, the anesthesia mask being put on me and then waking up with cast on my legs. The moment I woke up i was so drugged up and tired that i kept nodding off and I was so high on anesthesia that I would cry and laugh at everything.

For everyone who is nervous to have surgery, dont worry! I had my surgery today and it went just fine. The only bit of pain you will feel is the iv. thats all! When yo get the anesthesia, you immediately fall asleep u cant even tell what happened. I was literally worrying for absolutely nothing. If Im being completely honest, it was kinda fun hahahaha

I had back surgery when I was 15. I held it together until they started wheeling me off to the OR. At that point I was crying and I couldn't hide how nervous I was any longer. Eventually a guy walked up wearing a face shield and told me he was going to give me something to calm me down. That's the last thing I remember before waking up from surgery.

Once I had an ear surgery and I remember cursing in my head and complaining why the surgery isn't done already and I felt tired like I was waiting for it. And then later I just found out that I was in recovery room that time and the surgery is already done. I was high af
