Statistics are persuasive. So much so that people, organizations, and whole countries base some of their most important decisions on organized data. But any set of statistics might have something lurking inside it that can turn the results completely upside down. Mark Liddell investigates Simpsons paradox. Lesson by Mark Liddell

It's the first time that a health issue turned out in a war force coming from Brutal Political Law Imposition! It is not a healthy choice! It is a Brutal Political Law DIctature! There is no real health worries, there is political brutality! Take a carefull look in infection FOCUS, take you're conclusions! Imigrants, etnic minorities, poor countries, mixed up countries ( USA and BRAZIL. THIS IS NOT A HEALTH ISSUE, IS A MONEY BANK ISSUE, OPERATED BY THE CRIMINAL WHITE GLOVE OF LAW ( the governmemts elected by the people and financed by BANKS. Don't talk about COVID 19 ( like i am doing here for the last time, avoid the direct subject, claim your citizen rights and ignore this false health issue.

Im glad this is mentioned in the video and I imagined this is what it would be about. This kinda just goes down into simple scientific method really. Just because one thing is found doesnt mean that there cant be more factors affecting the situation. I do take statistics into consideration for a lot of decisions of course but I always try to separate it into separate factors if possible and try to find stuff that might disprove certain personal ideas that come up either because of the statistics or because of emotional causes.

I like how this video show how statistic can be misleading and then quantify all murders happening in florida to be of the same value, discarding context as if judgment case are broadly the same thing and are not unique in their combinations of circumstances and factors. Was it murder of children? First or second degree? Judgment rendered by judge or jury? The real world is not the world of theorics macroeconomics where every single product that does the same basic function has the same value.

well im not a scientist but i wouldnt call something that we are at fault a paradox u give computer data and it gives u results based on the data u gave him. Computer didn't think to hide anything from u in all cases it just didn't have the extra data which at the end were important for u since u never inserted him anything else. if I were to call it a paradox I would call it the paradox of human beings wanting all the information of the universe with a single clue

This can be explained in chess too. Mike won 80 games of chess in his last 100 games with a win rate of 80%. His average opponent was rated 1500. Tom won 50 games of his last 100 games. His averaqge opponent was rated 2500. Tom is the much better chess player.

Not agree. Statistics also include the fields not taken into consideration in these examples.
Counting the poor health ration for two hospitals comparison is also a part of statistics.
Grabbing representative samples is also a part of statistics.

So it's litterally the electoral colledge voting system, specific groups of people's votes can be wasted, because thay only had 49% of the votes, while they got 100% in another and the other side didn't waste any. Very tricky.

The whole world should have to watch this video on their first day of high school or its equivalent. it's common sense to some of us and painfully absent in others. I have no stats on these two groups: )

It has been shown that the longer a person lives, the sooner they tend to die. Therefore, it seems that a good way to avoid an early death is to not live as long.

That first example is huge. Better hospitals often have lower survival ratings because its better, so sicker people often to to that hospital instead.
