Sooooo. are acids already solutions with water to begin with? Does pouring strong acid in a bit of water convert that water into acid? What happens with all them protons in the water? This was getting in my nerves. Protons can't be lost or gained! I repeat a proton does not move from its atom. Only electrons are lost and gained. How tf did Ted get this wrong.

So if an atom gives up a proton, doesnt that change it all together? Like if an He atom gives up a hydrogen ion, wouldnt that make it a H- atom?
