Read the book. She died years AFTER they started using her cells. Johns Hopkins had her come back many times in order to take more tissue from her and she thought she was going to JH for checkups. Poor and indigent people went to Johns-Hopkins in her day (maybe still do. Her cells were sold to labs all over the country and Henrietta or her family did not receive one cent from her contributions to science! Neither she nor her family could afford healthcare.

I think this video downplays the shadiness and the racism involved in this situation. To have like 7 seconds about it in a 5 minute video seems a little odd for an educational video.
