If earth was a body, we humans are like parasites of the planet, taking in what we can for ourselves. Without us, it will thrive more.
If earth and humans are in a relationship, we are the toxic partner that claims ownership to our other partner when in fact, it was never ours in the first place.
No matter if u have ur God or Not, a great believer of purpose or nihilism, point is. we are only here temporarily, and eventually the planet will be very relieved with our extinction.

So this is what the post-apocalyptic world would look like. Except add in radioactivity and mutations to plants and animals from nuclear fallout.

Apart from our pets, all the other animals would throw a party that would last for weeks: Uhuuu. the planet is all ours now.

If humanity is gonna disappear like how Thnos snaped his fingers. I kill my pets first because I don't want then to suffer.
