Thanks to an algorithm, a guy making that algorithm into a website, and now another guy making that website into a virtually navigatable world, it's now actually possible to visit the Library of Babel and it is disconcerting to think that all human knowledge and inhuman knowledge stands around you but is totally inaccessible to you, even this comment here that I am writing now and the actions I am about to take after pressing the comment button.

I don't agree that Borges belongs to the magical realism movement. Like Piglia said, he gave form the concept of speculative fiction or conceptual lieterature. But above all, like Kafka, he's his own genere.

Great video, but Borges is far from magical realism. His works are mind blowing/reality warping fantasies. He even has works based on mythology.

What a wonderful video with such a beautiful and mystical music in the background! Does anyone know the name of that piece of piano?

Borges 'Death and the Compass' is my favourite short story. bloody brilliant. An influence on Umberto Eco and influenced by Conan Doyle.
