Feeling disconnected from creating art within classical conventions, artist Georgia OKeeffe began experimenting with abstract drawings that defied easy classification. Using the shapes and rhythms of nature to capture her internal world, these experiments became the cornerstone of the movement known as American Modernism. Iseult Gillespie explores the works of the elusive painter and sculptor. Lesson by Iseult Gillespie, directed by Lisa LaBracio

Anyone else only know Georgia OKeeffe because of Jane from Breaking Bad? Jesse thought Georgia was obsessed painting a perfect picture of a door while Jane saw that Georgia loved the door, that she considered it her home and painted it over and over to make the feeling of love last. Great scene, the contrast between jesses misunderstanding and Janes interpretation all while being an analogy for the love between them.

Im so happy to see this video. Ive always been passionate, and interested in Georgia OKeeffes life. Just as the video says, she saw art in details in the small sometimes overlooked things in life.
One day I hope to go and visit her studio/home in Abiquiu and Taos, NM

I can't find any other comment talking about the music so I'll just say it myself: it's beautiful! It's so calm and the piano notes hit perfectly in the spaces between the words. Adds to the entire aesthetic of this already beautiful vid.

Why is everything American also named American. Like here American Modernism. I feel like theres always an America in words like these where as I dont see for example French or France in front of or behind everything from France.

I remember the first time my aunt brought me to an art museum, I spent hours looking at Georgias flower paintings. When I got home I was inspired and made my own, and base my art know off of her: )

haha loved this art dweller, she is truly awoken and has spent an amount of time on aligning her chakras and meditating on dimethyl triptomine

My mother did a art research paper for school once on Georgia O'Keeffe. She would later become my Mother's favorite artists.
