50 Amazing Photos Of Las Vegas In The 1950s and 60s Im going to guarantee you some of those dates are wrong. The one that shows the Las Vegas Club with the Dugout restaurant cant be earlier than 1964. The restaurant was called Biffs before the name was changed by Mel Exber in the mid 1960s. I just looked at it again. It says its a postcard. Its obviously the 1970s. You can tell by the automobiles. This would make it mid 1970s before 1978. The Las Vegas Club was remodeled starting in 1978.

I was a military officer and subsequently a cop then a federal special agent in Las Vegas for 20 years. My memories are of superficial personalities with low levels of integrity and out for whatever they can scam. I like to tell people who have not experienced it, that the fires of hell bubble close to the surface and the summer heat is unbearable. I now live in northwest Washington and have no regrets for escaping that horrible place!

Vegas must’ve been such an anomaly back then. A big portion of the tourists there would’ve been ww1 or 2 vets and at the very least had lived through it and the depression, real salt of the earth people from a different world

The entire state of Nevada was financed with Mafia money. The operations costs funded by Losers from all over the Country. Their money spent on hooch, hookers and gambling. In return, the losers get to gawk at bright shiny lights!

I'm from Vegas and yeah those were classier times. Love the photos. When we were kids my dad use to drive us down Fremont Street to see all the lights. It was so amazing to me.

Picture #21 comment says ''This image from a postcard. Fremont street in the 50's. Looking at the cars and the way people are dressed I'd say late 60's - early 70's.

A couple of your captions are messed up. You have photos from the 1970s and 1980s which are not 50's and 60's. There are misspellings. This video is a mess.

An outstanding collection of pics! Can anyone please tell me the title of the soundtrack used in this video It's a beautiful piece of music.

The 1980s airport and ice cream shop photos don't exactly fit the mood. This has been done better, sticking to true vintage Vegas

Went too fast. Didn't have time to read about some of the pictures before they would change to the next picture.
