The entire 70s were about the best time to grow up. I also know the 60s were pretty good also and a lot of changes happen there. I looked forward to turning 13 back in 1967. I could be a big-shot teenager. I got my driver's license in early 1971 and everything seemed to take off through those glorious 70s. I felt like I lived a whole lifetime in those next 10 years. I hitchhiked from coast to coast and from Florida to Canada. The party dope was even better back then too. I know I did enough to drop an Elephant and maybe a Horse or two. Cars were hot and the ladies were fast. Rock & Roll was at its tops and I played lead guitar in a popular hometown band. I built and raced Mustangs. I also learned a trade in floor covering, tile, carpet, vinyl, and hardwood. I developed my own business into total kitchen and bath remodeling and made a good living. I screwed up a lot here and there, but I had one hell of a good time growing up in the 70s. The opportunities through the 70s seemed endless. Not at all like today. I would give my I teeth and left arm to go back to the 70s.

My Dad's substitute middle school teacher, was Jim Jones.
My Mom worked with two ladies at the Ukiah Bank, who went to Jonestown, and never came back. My Aunt was taught French in school, by Jones Wife.
My other Aunt, is friends with Tracy, the young girl who escaped into the jungle, when the airstrip shooting went down.
My Uncle, who owns the local funeral home, helped bury many of the victims.
Many years later, I think in 2015, the teenage guy in the blue shirt, shown talking with Jim about leaving, lived in the small county I'm from, and died by suicide-by-cop, from a police officer I know.
It's strange how many of my older family members are linked to this tragic event.

1978: Ted Bundy was caught for good, John Wayne Gacy was arrested, Jeffery Dahmer started killing, Had a major snowstorm, Halloween (1978) came out, the movie Grease came out, and The original Dawn Of The Dead came out. I wasn't born, Michael Jackson's Off The Wall Came Out, and Spinks upset Ali! I wish I was born in the mid-60s instead of my mom so I could have experienced the 70s and the 80s instead of growing up in the 90s ( which was the last great decade) and the 2000s (which kinda sucked) The 2010s and the 2020s sucked. Only if I could create a time journey!

The Blizzard of 78, I was a Milkman, and left out for my only stop, at Selfridge Air and Navy Base. I worked for a dairy in Battle Creek.
When I got to Detroit, it was barely snowing, but after my delivery it was coming down big time and by the time that I got to Albion, we had over a foot.
This was the most Miserable job that I ever had, Which I had from March 77 until roughly October 78, when I got a better job.
It was actually a great Job, just not my job.

A tragic side note about Mario Andretti's F1 title win: In the race that he won the title in the Italian GP, his teammate Ronnie Peterson was severely injured in a first lap accident. Peterson would die the next day as a result of kidney failure associated with the broken leg he suffered in the accident. Also the video mentioned that Niki Lauda finished 2nd in the F1 championship that year when it was actually Peterson.

I remember the blizzard of 78 so well! The first night after the snow stopped falling, my dad, brother and I walked through the woods across from our house and trekked to the nearest food store. We got all the ingredients for hot chocolate and homemade fudge and I went home and cooked it up over the stove. We had the best time! I miss those days so much.

Why is, LGBTQ, referred to here? That was not a thing until this century. Sounds like some people at, Timeline, are trying to rewrite history. I am not knocking the, LGBTQ, community, but if you are going to discuss history at least get right. Stop pushing political correctness on everyone.

6: 53 Jackie Chan & director Yuen Woo-ping would also release Drunken Master later that year, which became an even bigger hit and established the former's most iconic fighting style that would go on to be featured again in Drunken Master II (1994) & The Forbidden Kingdom (2008.

15: 07 Gary Coleman changed the world forever, for the better. Single-handedly prevented myself, and millions of other 70s children from growing up to be racist. To THIS DAY gets no credit for it. Sacrificing his own childhood, and losing his own fortune, in the process!

Your catering to the leftist ideology is a bit much. I mean just get a show on Bravo. I say this having friends that are gay I dont care at all. its just questionable that you are shoving it so forcefully. I question anyone who seems to try too hard.

Marion Barry was not the first elected black Mayor of DC. Walter Washington, the man for whom the city's convention center is named, was the first Black elected Mayor of DC in 1974 following the passage of the Home Rule Act of 1973.

The correct nomenclature for 2 longest serving pope would be pontif not pope or am I wrong. Like a pope in past tense or something indirectly. Or is pontif like just another term like queen Elizabeth was called monarch sometimes

All those movies and no mention of JAWS 2 which only happened to be the sequel to the biggest box-office hot of all time. I love JAWS 2 and think it's an excellent follow up to the classic JAWS.

The blizzard of 78 coincided with the issuance of my moped license and didn't stop me from riding all day and night through a city full of otherwise empty 'fresh powder' streets. So much fun!

it's terrible that he was shot and paralyzed, but as a paramedic I had to laugh as the ambulance that Larry Flynt was being transported in drove off with the rear doors still open.
