Interesting detail: the cast director was Georgianne Walken, wife of Christopher Walken. If you look closely, many actors of the main cast had roles in movies in which Chris Walken participated. James Gandolfini played a brutal yet sensitive mafia thug with Walken as his memorable boss in True Romance.
That movie was scripted by Tarantino and it's like a who's who of before they were famous.

It was SO frustrating waiting all that time in between seasons. But it's either such a love for the show and story / characters that made it worth the wait.
And 1000% agree, Tony redefined the anti hero role that had only been dabbled with before in shorter formats.
James Gandolfini was bursting through walls we didn't even know an actor was capable of, and he is terribly missed. RIP.

As much as I love The Sopranos, The Many Saints of Newark is not good. First off, David Chase completely changed the age of Silvio. Now he’s like 10-15 years older than Tony lol The entire plot as it is was mediocre. Should have simply kept the story between Dickie and Uncle Junior. The entire Leslie Odom Jr storyline leads to absolutely nothing.

Pertaining to the final episode, the onion ring theory is quite interesting. A number of Sopranos fans believe Tony died via heart attack, making that plate of onion rings his actual killer. There was I believe an emphasis on Tony’s declining health leading up to that episode, too.

My favorite theory on the ending is that everyone but meadow was killed in that diner. The guy who did the video backed it up so convincingly that it lives rent free in my mind. That’s how the show ended in my mind now. 2 shooters got Tony, Carmela and AJ.

I did not watch each season of The Sopranos. I would wait until the last episode and buy the whole season on DVD. Then, I would watch them all back to back. This way, I never had to wait a week or two for the next episode. I was a spoiled Soprano geek.

0: 01 Twin movies are films with the same or similar plots produced and released within a close proximity of time by two different film studios. (Wikipedia)
I am a big fan of the twin films Immaculate and The First Omen.

Tony definitely got whacked. Every episode ends with music that represents Tony’s thoughts and the mood of the episode. Because the song abruptly ends and it’s just black, that means he definitely got killed.

I never saw a single episode. Glad that I didn't cause I hate fake endings that don't actually give an ending! Makes me feel like I wasted time on something even the producers never cared about finishing!

The Sopranos, Oz, and Deadwood.
HBO changed television. Tom Fontana, David Chase, David Milch. TV writing gods.
Edit: Check _The Revolution was Televised_, A. Sepinwall. Great book about it.

Beautiful synchronicity: a few days ago I finished watching the entire saga. I always find something new in this series. Now en material, just in time for the conclusion. Thank you and greetings

I really enjoyed The Soparanos, but after awhile it felt really formulaic and kind a boring. I think it went on for too long. The movie was good, but not enough to get me to re-watch the series.

So sad Tony never had the making of a varsity athlete. But he had an amazing fighting career. Beating multiple opponents. Only suffering a single defeat at the hands of Bobby The Blue Comet Bacala

please don't compare the sopranos to game of thrones. the sopranos elevated television to the realm of cinema. game of thrones threw away decades of work for cheap cgi fire scenes

Hate to be a sheep but Pine Barrens. Not just because it’s awesome but I happened to have gotten lost in the snowy woods on the same day I watched it. No, I’m not Valery.
