What Happens If You Fall out of an Airplane?

30, 000 feet, 9, 144 meters, 9 kilometers or 5. 7 miles - so far, only one person has ever survived a free fall from that height. Would you be as lucky? On January 26, 1972, an explosion aboard JAT Airlines Flight 367 resulted in the impossible. 22-year-old flight attendant Vesna Vulovic fell from 10, 000 meters (33, 000 feet) in the air, setting a world record for surviving the highest fall without a parachute. How did she survive?

How are you going to spend your last 60 seconds being alive while falling? Giving up? Or trying to make the situation better?
It's like playing a game of pinball, and the ball is still very high up on the table, but you just -give up- and watch it fall past every obstacle, and then down past the point of no return. YOU COULD HAVE AT LEAST TRIED.
-It's not over yet! - is a very empowering mindset. It doesn't guarantee victory, but NOT having it guarantees FAILURE, always.

That first one shouldn't count because by the title of the video, it sounds like surviving falling out of an airplane not surviving the highest altitude plane crash. Still an awesome story to tell people and amazing, but it doesn't fit the title since you're pinned in the plane that crashed that's closer to being a survivor of a crash landing. Now the second person, they were flung out the window of the plane, that's a free fall from the air. Although I'm surprised that happened.

This is all crap. The moment you are leaving the plane at 30000 feet you would instantly loose conciousness due to the sudden shock and die in the course of free falling. You would already be dead when hitting the ground. Imagine what happens if the human body hits the ground at a final speed of 150 mph? Body parts and guts spread all over the place. Therefore, the entire video is crap!

This guy said the heavier you are, the faster you-ll fall which is incorrect. Everything falls at the same speed, unless drag is acting upon it. Which means the heavier you are the greater the drag force acting on you will be hence the heavier you are, the slower you-ll fall.

If the person who compiled and edited this knew his movies, he would have included the Baron Munchausen (Gilliams version) clip of merely latching onto a mortar on the way out, and THEN a cannonball on the way back-. It would be a fun, comical way to end this video.

Whatta joke. Folks if you fall out of an airplane without a parachute, make your peace with God and if you can, guide yourself to a location that will cause the least damage to property or others when landing. You are NOT going to survive, nor would you want to!

It is not the fall but the sudden stop. A guy jumped off a ten story building and when he went past every floor the spectators asked -How's it going? - and he said -So far so good! -.

I've ran through every scenario in my head and I've come to the conclusion I'll take my belt off mid freefall, wrap it around my neck and try to off myself before I hit the ground

The one about the guy falling from a bomber during WWII is a myth-. the TV series Mythbusters recreated this and proved beyond any doubt that it never happened.

I can survive a plane crash, if i landed on the water, i can swim but dont swim and follow the river! It will led you and fall in the waterfall and die. --

Well, it seems like -professional- landing on your legs means wheelchair and permanent pain for good. Then, it could actually be a better bet to die.

Just watched what happened in afghanistan. I have a question. Can you survive and land safe just by hanging outside the airplane till the take off?

I bet the death is thinking about the person who made this video: do I look like a joke to you? Why don't yo try and I will tell you. Hahaha

How about a non-pressurized arcrafts cruise altitude(8500FT?
Well i guess if someone survide 30000 ft someone have survived 8500ft

I usually bring a blanket whenever I travel by plane, so I would tie the corners of it to my limbs. hopefully, that would help a bit.
reply

Just get a chair with you when you fall so that you will jump off of it at the last minute, breaking your fall.

It's comforting to believe in reincarnation and helpful if you are comfortable with being a pizza, in the next life.

She did not free fall from out of the plane. She felt within and with the plane. Please make a better investigation.

If i was falling out an airplane i would immediately start recording on my phone because the cameraman never dies

I'm sorry but I just can't believe that. Falling 33, 000 feet & surviving. No way, can't happen!
