The controversial American Civil war. Southern sympathizers say The Confederate States of America was a country created for the states to have more power over their own legislation then the federal government. That sounds fantastic. Unfortunately that fact has been written out of history and the criticism of the southern secession revolves around slavery in the eyes of people today. Despite taxation increases and tariffs on imports also causing the divide in the country pre-civil war. Slavery likely would have been abolished in the newly formed Confederacy by the 1890s due to pressures from Britain and France who supported the southern states during the civil war but frowned upon the horrors of slavery they likely would of threatened to stop trading with the Confederates. Segregation likely would of lasted in the Confederate States longer then the 1960s and would of probably ended around the time of the end of Apartheid in South Africa. Can you do a video on the topic of what if the Confederates won the civil war?
