For dinner tonight, you are being treated to the tasting menu of a lifetime. The periodic table of elements. Which elements would you be able to eat? Which ones would taste or smell funny? And which elements would ruin the fun by killing you? Which of these 118 elements is the most dangerous? What is copper toxicity?

If you were to swallow all elements of the periodic table, it would likely be fatal. Many of the elements are toxic and could cause severe damage to the body. Some elements, such as heavy metals like lead and mercury, can cause neurological damage and organ failure. Others, like radioactive elements, can cause cancer and other serious health problems. Additionally, the sheer volume of elements would likely cause physical harm to the body. It is not recommended to ingest any elements of the periodic table.

I like how they talk about how livermorium would smell bad but not how its so radioactive that it would decay into lighter elements in a blink of an eye, undergoing spontaneous fission and resulting in instant nuclear explosion obliterating everything within several kilometers.

Lithium, Beryllium, Boron, half of the transition metals, lanthanides, most of the actinides, Rubidium, Cesium, most of the halogens: Am I a joke to you?
reply

Uh, no. Sodium and potassium are extremely dangerous to eat as pure metals. They are highly reactive with water, they ignite and explode in water.

reply

Sodium and Potassium wouldn-t be safe as it-s Atom is so reactive it eats your mouth instead of your mouth eating it.
