The only thing that truly held down the clone wars series, was the prequels. It certainly shouldn't be considered bad just because of some issues it has seeing as the cartoons were the only saving graces of the prequel era.
As for not taking itself too seriously. uh. What about the Original trilogy? That took itself seriously. the difference is between those and prequels, was they were well made. You could get invested in the characters and story, and honestly real tension builds. Sure it had comedic characters and light hearted moments, but that'sin everything. The only reason the prequels don't work is they don't have emotion or plausibility to them.
The thing is, the only cartoons starwars has that don't take themselves seriously are the overly comedic ones. (the old Droids and Ewoks shows, and the lego specials) With those it's fine, but the very thing that made starwars so memorable was how well done it was. (plus the show is about the rebels. so yeah ofcours eit didn't go for full on comedy)

I agree with him about the Clone Wars. Although they didn't make Anakin a complaining brat like they did in the Prequels, I just can't get over how all over the place it was. It had some really good action and story plot in a few episodes and then a lot of dull episodes. And I'm sorry, but I also can't get over how Ahsoka ISN'T canon. She is a pretty great role model and a strong female character, but she isn't real in the Star Wars universe. Dave Filoni said Star Wars Rebels has nothing to do with the Clone Wars in one interview, but ever since he brought Ahsoka back that's all anyone can see. Now that he's brought her back and Vader is hunting her down the inevitable is going to happen. She's going to die. If you push your emotions aside and look at logic, it has to happen. Otherwise fans won't stop asking where she is. Please no hate. I'm not an Ahsoka hater, just looking at things logically.

The reason I don't like The Clone Wars is that it felt like fan fiction rather than legitimate cannon. In the movies, Obi-Wan and Anakin don't meet Grievous or re-incounter Dooku until EpIII. In TCW, they fight each other ALL the time. There are bits I like and it had a lot of potential, but ultimately it didn't flow with the movies. Rebels is just garbage made for kids. If that's all it were i wouldn't care, but everything I've seen so far indicates it's canon-_- Nope, just nope. The main character has a laser-slingshot, and that should tell you everything you need to know.

i dont like people like you. thinking they are true -fans- saying the prequels suck, omg prequels suck, why were they made? ughhh stfu. ya, sure they were not as good as the original trilogy but they were not bad, i still enjoyed watching them. Then you said you didnt like clone wars (show) because it had to much dialogue. and you liked the other one because it was pure action. what is the point of a story if all you want to see is guns being shot and lightsaber fights, yes without them the movies would have sucked but that is not the main part of the story. It is the dialogue!

The clone wars movie, season 1, season 2, and some of season 3 were pretty bad. Rest of season 3, and seasons 4, 5, and 6 were all fantastic. IMO the better stuff makes up for the bad stuff but I'd put it between the light and the dark.
After the season finale of rebels though, I think rebels is a through and through fantastic series. Weissman and Filioni are doing fantastic work together. I hope Weissman leaving won't drag the show down too much, but everyone knows the Weissman 2-season cancellation curse.

What the hell are you on about? The 2008 clone wars has much better character development and action than the prequels. It actually shows Annikan as a strong Jedi with a capable apprentice that takes after his flaws but has a drive to do what's right. The prequels show Annikan as a bratty little kid that's always gotten what he's wanted. The 2008 clone wars series was the best piece Star Wars film or shows besides a new hope and the empire strikes back.

MONSTER MASH! The only way these b rated monster movie characters will ever make a come back is if they throw them all together into one big Monster Mash Movie! I would love to see Frankenstein and Creature from the Black Lagoon fused into a host of other Mummy, Invisible, Vampire, Werewolf - Gremlins- film. Bring em all back! I mean just over load the thing with every monster in the book! That would be a kicker!

I have to say I disagree. I did enjoy Star Wars the Clone Wars, i like the story and it was a lot more dignified than the prequels. Also Star Wars Rebels is doing every thing you said would make it bad, and it is a really good series. Also i am ashamed to say. I like Jar Jar (BOO BOO) Hey i was four when i fist say him i found him funny. looking. I do know why people hate him, but i will always kind of like him.

With the clone wars it really depends on the episodes. Some were beautiful and thrilling, while others had lame subplots and flat side characters. The only complaint I would add on is in it the clones go from badasses to the biggest of pussies. With its quality and battles I would have put it on light side but yeah a lot of episodes are shit.
