Inward heelflips (along with bs 180 heelflips) and hardflips (along with frontside flips) seem like the exact opposite of what is natural when learning some of these levels. Wrapping your head around kicking the flip in the same direction your body and board are spinning isn't easy for me. Watching some of the best at it; one thing to note, they catch the board - after the flip - at about 90 degrees, then continue to spin the other 90 before landing.

Ok, here's my story:
I bought a skateboard for my son last week. Yesterday I decided to learn with him. Today I watched this video. Level one will keep me going for next 5 years. Level 5 will keep me going for the rest of my life: )
Thanks Tony.
Ps. I completed Tony hawk pro skater 2 with (almost) everything done/unlocked/achieved.

A tip Tony didn't mention, when landing any of the various ollie initiated tricks, stomp your board to the ground at the right time, don't let gravity pull your feet to the board. This way you will fall less and feel more in control of your board and your momentum.

this video was really motivating and encouraging because
1. I got into skating so late in life
2. because he ranked a frontside shuvit (which I've been working on and barely accomplished) more complex than backside (which tbh I can't even imagine trying)

I'm very impressed with his flat ground for a vert skater. But it's sorta funny he obviously can't do a tre flip or that would have definitely been included. that's one of the most important tricks to learn.

Should this not be called -21 levels of RAMP Skateboarding-? Mullen and Giger did and do equally difficult things but on the other end of the trick spectrum. Don't think you'd catch Hawk doing Darkslides.

Ive been skating for about a year and ai find ollies and kickflips the easiest for some reason. my pop-shove its are okay, i can barely front shove, and my fs 180s are trash -

My childhood hero
Now I have kids and my oldest is starting to ride with me but its funny. We get up and are at the park for 7am and no one is ever there until 8 or 9

My 2nd trick was a heelflip I've practiced that 13 times in a row to keep them on lockdown then my 3rd nd 4th trick was front&back shuv 5th trick was kickflips

Even tho ik Tony is pro and aged a lot. seeing the failed attempts just make me feel a tiny bit better just bc even the pros make can mess up the basic tricks.
