Herd immunity for virus with 5% death rate means to kill at least 2. 5% of the world population. that-s 200 million deaths. It-s not a solution. it-s what happens if we don-t find a solution. China and thailand where able to get rid of the virus in 1 month. how about the rest of the world just does the same as they did?
Have people really become that selfish to care about own comfort more than others lives?

Again with the f-ing vaccines. Yes to vaccines for severe diseases. I've had chickenpox and whooping cough at a time when no vaccines existed. No to vaccines for airborn diseases that mutate continuously. That is unless you want to stay on the vaccine treadmill for the remainder of your life. Better to aim for better personal health instead of relying on an external source to compensate.

There are main two things: 1) How fast a virus mutates, and 2) how good immune systems are at recognizing a virus, making an imprint, and retaining immunity. I think this second thing is more immune system dependent rather than dependent on the virus or perhaps some relationship of both.
