The cast of Netflix’s live-action series 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' answer the most Googled questions from fans. Watch as Gordon Cormier (Aang, Kiawentiio Tarbell (Katara, Dallas James Liu (Zuko, Ian Ousley (Sokka) and Elizabeth Yu (Azula) answer questions like; How old is Aang Where is Katara from Is Sokka an Avatar What is the most powerful nation in the Avatar To answer the first question, Avatar takes place on Planet Earth. Each Nation is a different continent or section of the continent. The Fire Nation controls part of the Americas, part of Asia, and Australia. The Earth Kingdom has ALL of China, and then parts of Africa and Europe. The Air Nomads I do not exactly know but most of the Temples are kind of islands in the Oceans. The South pole is Antarctica. The North Pole is the North Pole. I hope this helps! You can also see Dallas's discomfort with Where is Zuko's Mother question. They are really intune with their characters in these questions!

I feel like their personalities here are closer to the original show then they are in the live action like sokka's actor is always there with the jokes and katara's actor is confident and taking charge while being warm and loving and aang's actor has more spirit and personality i feel like this is a direction issue because the actors clearly know the show and what the characters are supposed to bel like so they hould be given more artistic freedom to bring what they can to these characters because a lot of the show's potential is being wasted because of a false sense of maturity they think they are bringing to this show and characters so i'm really hoping for some changes in the upcoming seasons because they have the actors and ressources to make something really special here.

3: 16 One thing I think the live action did a good job of is keeping Aang and Katara platonic/familial, at least for the first season. I know that puppy love can happen instantly in real life, but writing-wise, it was boring to see Aang crush on Katara so quickly and their progression felt forced in Book 3. I hope (if they still wanna keep Kataang canon) that their relationship is developed naturally in the live action.
If they keep the poorly written Kataang for the live action too, then I'd rather Zutara be a thing.

6: 40 They need to check in with the people who edited this video because Avatar cycle is most certainly NOT broken after Aang. Obviously there is Korra and Avatar Studios announced new Avatar series with an Earth Avatar.
4: 05 Bending is not genetic. Katara & Sokka's parents are not benders but Katara is and Bumi was not a bender until season 3 of TLOK despite being a child of Aang & Katara.

Low-key Netflix could continue this series of avatar even passed when Ang defeats fire Lord Ozi. They could literally do a live action version of when Zuko finds his mother. And how team avatar basically made Republic city. They could do the whole entire backstory leading up to Legend of Korra if play their cards, right.

Love how Kiawentiio mentioned Aang and katara relationship being it subtle before it was season3 romance and also how she immediately threw the card back when the Zutara ship came up and she didn’t want to answer it UNTIL Dallas said something about it lol

Written in Chinese, Aang means peaceful soaring. Considering that Aang was an Air Nomad and heavily believed in non-violence, his name's meaning was quite apt. Meanwhile, Katara and Sokka's names mean wanting hope and I understand, respectively, in Japanese.

Airbenders could be the most powerful and dangerous benders if they had no morals. I mean isn't air needed for fire and water. Shouldn't and Airbender be able to do something similar to bloodbending, since there is oxygen in blood

Katara and Aang have more expression in these interviews than their characters do on screen. This tells me the writers for the script and such held us back and that these are in fact the right people for the role

4: 04 My impression is that anyone should be able to do some spirit bending, but beyond that, as Gordon says, anyone can learn to be competent fighters in that universe, and some can do more like chi-blocking.

Love the way Elizabeth and Gordon toss the cards and I agree with Gordon if it wasn’t for Sozin’s comet the airbenders would have Zaheered their asses 7: 11 Kiawentio’s face change was hilarious

7: 09 As a Zutara fan, I'm happy because they didn't really deny it. So i feel like there's still hope
Dont get me wrong, I don't hate Katang, but i prefer Zuko and Katara together.

As someone who doesn't know the lore very well, the answer that Bending is genetic makes no sense whatsoever when Sokka and Katara are full blood brother and sister. Anyone able to explain

Why do you throw stuff on the floor Airbender is not a clown show. Be humble 5 of you. Someone has to clean up. Bring your moms with you to clean up your mess. Lead and set a good example.

I hate to pick on kids, but Azula definitely doesn't look like she fits the character. And Aang only looks normal with hair. When he's bald, the eyebrows are too much. Sorry, but I had to say it.
reply

I've heard that Azula's fire is blue not necessarily because it is hottest, but because it burns the purests. (Also to make it visually distinctive, for an out of universe explanation)

I think people need to watch the animated show to:
1. understand the plot better so its less confusing when they shorten storylines
2. not get spoiled by this video XD

7: 21 i have the foggiest memory of the movie Avatar and Avatar: The Way of the Water, but did they even mention the word Avatar in that movie I can't remember a thing.
reply

I just love that Gordon Cormier is a fan of The Avatarist like me. He has answers to literally all the questions I ever had about the world of Avatar The Last Airbender.
reply

I'm really happy to hear them talk about the OG show, Legend of Korra, and all of the other expanded material! They really know their stuff and that's really awesome!
