Matt Hullum, executive producer for Transformers: War For Cybertron, goes through the entire history of the Transformers franchise. When people say, Gen 1, what do they really mean? How many generations of Transformers are there? Is Beast Wars also in the Transformers franchise? Transformers: War For Cybertron Trilogy is streaming on Netflix now

The thing that gets me is beast wars takes place centuries into the future. I remember transformers taking place on earth via the movie. So if time runs forward then at some point in the transformers universe Earth had advanced humans prior to the beast wars (dinosaurs present. So Transformers takes place millions of years in OUR past. Edit: My queston was answered 10 seconds after posting my theroy. At least I got it half right!

I was sad to see Transformers Cybertron only get a passing mention as it was the one I grew up with and added a lot of interesting characters and expanding things like the cyber planet keys and adding beast planet and the giant planet which melded all the previous incarnations or transformers into one story.

I learned quite a bit, appreciate you putting this together!
Also, I went to see Transformers The Movie in 1986 with my Dad and I must say I REALLY enjoyed it and had the same thoughts you did about it being the -greatest thing in the history of time-! --

I didn't care too much the new Transformers art. To Japanese animaish or what ever they do. To many moving parts. Can't tell who's who in fight scenes. They did better in the last one showing more of the vehicle for better recognition though

Thank you for sharing.
But let me ask you.
Have you ever thought of doing a story about Elita-One and her female Autobots?
If you can recall, she was the love interest of Optimus Prime before he became Optimus Prime.

Man, I remember getting the entire -Armada- Trilogy on DVD, I watched it over and over countless times, then went on to -Cybertron- (I didn't really count -Energon- as part of the whole thing even though it was)

To say fans never got to see much of the war on Cybertron before Siege is so wrong. We got plenty of it in the comics, and the Aligned Universe offered two wonderful video games set during the War

Wish there was a bit more on Transformers Animated. My favorite incarnation of Optimus Prime. In every other incarnation he's already the perfect leader. In this one we see the growth of a leader.

Michael bay movies wasn-t bad it was the humans that made it bad the action and transformers designs and the way they transform were great but the humans just sucked
