Unfortunately, this video set these women up for failure and internet criticism, instead of showcasing their accomplishments and highlighting the obstacles for women trying to advance in motorsport. Case in point, question asks how much is an F1 car worth? Her answer: a couple of millions for sure. This is not really a question for drivers, more a question for the development team, i. e. engineers, aerodynamicists, etc. etc. Then they overlay her answer with -According to some estimates, at least $12. 2 million, but some teams spend over $400 million. - without stipulating the difference in the cost of a single chassis versus the total cost of running two cars and an entire team at the very top end of F1 for an entire season.
I understand the questions are the questions posed by the internets, but come on. A better selection of questions would have served these women better. Pretty sloppy video overall. And the answer about why F1 went with the V6 engine? Oh my. this poor woman is going to be hearing about that one for quite some time. Honestly, F1 fans could answer many of these questions better, and that is not fair to these drivers, and really does them no favors. Shame.

8: 47 I face palmed so hard I almost broke my nose! First of all, no one like the V6 engine sound compared to the V10s and V12s of the past. Its because the FIA wants F1 to be more environmentally friendly, thats why they transitioned towards the Hybrid era.
P. S: Its funny that Wired did a QnA video about F1 with no F1 drivers in it.

Unbelievably low effort. I watch F1 sparingly, and I could've answered these questions much better and some answers were blatantly wrong. I'd love to see Formula 1 pros answer Formula 1 questions, especially considering it was only on a video call. Could've even gotten an ex F1 driver.

The problem with not interviewing the drivers, is that F1 only allows a few days of testing in the season, so I don't think they know as much as a driver.
I really hope to see them in a F1 race, but this answers are lazy.

love how wired gets known people for all their other videos but then gets random fia drivers that don't even drive in the right championship. They sound like ordinary fans answering questions about F1. So disappointing.

At this point I-m so used to seeing pro. Vs. anti movements that for a second I thought these were -people pro-driving- answering questions and I thought to myself -not another divisive movement smh- lmao

Not going to disrespect but you could choose someone with actual skills to answer these instead of picking one of the slowest Formula 2 driver. Anyone can be a F1 test driver with enough money nowadays

You can tell that people are jerks because of all the thumbs down on a really informative and interesting video? Or is that just because they don't race F1?

These segments rely on true expertise. All these x comments on y, the appeal is in hearing true experts. I wish they had questions on their own worlds.
