Xe'ra knew Illidan would do what he did. Being she is supposedly all knowing. She did it because the Naaru believe that first and foremost you need to believe
in yourself. When Illidan did what he did, what did he say to Turalyon? He said we only can save ourselves. So she let Illidan do that to show Turaylon that everyone needs to believe in themselves and that they can beat the Burning Legion themselves.

I'm with Illidan on this one. -Chosen One- and -prophecy- always seem to boil down to NO FREE WILL. Your future is already decided, you are either evil because fate has picked you as history's heel or good with no merit of your own moral choices.

Lets not forget demon hunters can see through demonic and dark disguises etc, and Illidans more powerful than your average demon hunter at that. I took this as him spotting a darkness hiding behind the light and wanting nothing do do with that nonsense. Cue eye beam goodness to expose the army of the light being led by corruption all along. I rekon Turalyon is still a decent chap though.

this may well be one of the best cut scenes ever in the game, now put this next to sylvanas's - i will never serve- crap and it falls so flat. with illidan he's always done his own thing an dthis all makes sense to his character. no sylvanas is - i will never serve- queen immediately after apparently always having served the jailor lol.

I get Illidan doesn't want to change and is defined by what he has been through. But didn't he say he's willing to do ANYTHING to defeat the Legion? Anything except that I guess.
Plus why did he eye-laser what is basically the Light's version of God? Turalyon has every right to be a bit mad.

What if Xe'ra knew that that'd be Illidan's reaction? What if she did that to get that reaction out of Illidan to show everyone that they need to rely on themselfs and not her? Its the same message Medivh had after he stepped down from guardian.

I love Illidan man, part of me wishes he could become a pure Night Elf once again, cause he should be with Tyrande. He is so incredibly powerful, and he doesn't abuse it, he uses it purely to save his people, even thought hey despise him for it.

I know it would never happen but I kinda wanna see how arthas as the lich king would kill xera. As a death knight the only other class to truly understand us is the the illidari and illidan himself.
