It's interesting that Calia is now doing the same role and personality sylvannas had before they decided to make her the -bad guy-.
When cata started Sylvannas character changed drastically; before it was about giving the undead a home, a place in the world until the lich king was dead (even with some undead forming a cult in undercity; betraying her and attacking both horde and alliance at the wrath gate, leaving the horde players to take the undercity back and find out Valimathras was also behind it, but that's another story.
What wasn't shown in the game was in the books, Sylvannas took the forsaken to the alliance city in hopes to be accepted before world of warcraft started. They rejected them. so they joined the horde. Doesn't sound like Sylvannas today does she?
Which makes me wonder, if they can change Sylvannas so much without any care, whos to say Calia can go the same way? She is a Menethil and they did have a certain ruler turn evil as well; didn't they?

The alliance is cringeworthy with the -We all stand together- bollocks, as if they aren't allowed to do anything dark or non mary sue'ish since Arthas did the bad thing. Every expansion is -this is how the Horde screwed up- since Lich King.
If they wanted to make the Alliance not so vanilla, they'd have Genn Greymane be the one to become the 'corrupted King' for once, particularly due to his Worgen nature and his ability to show he will sacrifice his own men if it means sticking it to the Horde. The storytelling is there, but Blizzard's been all -Alliance leaders can't go bad. cause we did Arthas that one time- So it will probably be the same ole same ole -Alliance are united, and the Horde is only effective if they listen to us. - narrative thats tired at this point.

F-ck Calia for putting the guilt for the Arathi debacle on Sylvanas. Calia insisted on being there, despite knowing that the presence of Arthas' sister was extremely likely to enrage Sylvanas - or be construed as an attempted coup for the throne of Lordaeron. And Calia was the one who attempted to aid the defecting Forsaken, in clear violation of the terms agreed upon by BOTH Sylvanas and Anduin.
Sylvanas has done many horrible things, especially since becoming Warchief, but the blame for the Arathi Massacre belongs to the defecting Forsaken who broke the terms of the Gathering, and with Calia for being there at all. Like the entitled princess that she is, she just -had- to force herself into a situation she had no business being involved in.

Why cant we just be the bad guys. I joined the horde to be the bad guys to use underhanded tactics to win. Its so boring being good you have to do that in real life. Whats wrong with poisoning a few people or mana bombing a city? Plus it makes it cooler when we eventually team up with the goody two shoes alliance when an experiential crisis comes our way. If everyone is the same then nothing is special.

I fear that there may be a fight against the Light and during that expansion, Yrel may even take part of that crusade as she is already doing so by forcing Orcs in the alternate Draenor to join the light, and as seen when Xe'ra forced Illidan to become one with the Light.
