I haven't read the book so I don't know where the error comes from, (publishing error)

I was a little confused about the reading in a part. The main subject said that he found Talo. Talo as in balls of floating sulfur or Tallow Beef Fat I kinda searched around I think he found sulfur balls to cook with. Do they produce a lot of soot I also cook over a fire as a wandering nomad.

What a great book, and what a great collection of books you gathered here! Should these narratives be accompanied by the text read - that would be a GREAT help for English learners like myself and, I am sure, thousands other.

Great story! I served as a Seaman aboard the USS Long Beach CGN 9 65-69 and steamed some of the same oceans. This book took me back to that time in my life. A seaman leaves the sea, but the sea never leaves the seaman.

Alan Chant is a very good reader. I'd like to hear more from him. I tired to read this book when sailing in grade school. It didn't hold me then. This reading makes it very interesting.

My father was Ralph W Slocum. Joshua Slocum was his great great grandfather. My dad also looked like him.
