SHERLOCK HOLMES The Hound of the Baskervilles-Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Bro can you give me the meaning of the following lines from SHERLOCK HOLMES: The Hound of the Baskervilles:
1. Interesting, though elementary
2. I trust that there is nothing of consequence which I have overlooked
3. Do none suggest themselves
4. This, in truth, his neighbors might have pardoned, seeing that saints have never flourished in those parts, but there was in him a certain wanton and cruel humor which made his name a byword through the West
5. If, indeed, so dark a passion may be known under so bright a name
6. He cried aloud before all the company that he would that very night render his body and soul to the Powers of Evil if he might but overtake the wench.

This brings so much nostalgia to me. My elementary teacher would read this to us as a Read Aloud. Most folks in class were quite scared as the chapters progressed. That was 15 years ago. I still remember that day. This book along with the iconic characters brought such a change to my life. A positive for that matter.

Thank you for the wonderful work that you are doing. Hearing, like the sense of smell, is fast becoming a repressed sense. People do not listen any more. We just want to see. In such a scenario, audiobooks are just the thing we need. The rendition is superb. Better than listening to a play. Thanks again.

Oi, a bat bit me when I shat in my hat. Was the size of a small rat. Tit for tat, this and that, machine gun goes rat a. tat. tat. couldn't swallow so I spat. Was annoyed, not by a fly but by a knat. I like dogs but love cats. Said hello, laid a welcome mat.

As a Scot i would prefer a Scots voice which is only fair since Sherlock is based on Dr Bell from Edinburgh University

Stories littered with casual racism don't age very well, yet we're taught to call them classics
