This story suffers from the 'Star Trek Nonsense' word salad problem.

As someone who has studied Human Genetics, so much of what was said here makes no sense whatsoever.
And it's obvious someone tried to prove they're far more literate than they actually are by using the Thesaurus to the point that the story becomes pure nonsense at some points.
It's a shame because it was a wonderful premise.

Overly wordy to the point of utter nonsense at times. He's not an alchemist. using starlight as elusive guide. doesn't make sense.
I love the story and premise. The writing just needed editing.
