interstellar and 2001 are in their own upper deck, the martian is maybe is probably the funnest and you can rewatch it over and over, you can watch it over and over, star trek is lens flare, gravity is cool, but heck there's so many different types of space movies, that's why we love them, who cares are drama and horror and comic book films?

Gravity was silly. The Kelvin timeline was silly. The Martian was amazing on every level (even if the Martian sand storm was, again, silly. 2001 - what can you say about 2001? It simply holds up. Interstellar was good as a hard Sci Fi film. Even if it became a bit. philosophical by the end.

Guys interstellar is the best ever but don't watch it first, go for it after watching some good space movies and then u will understand the difference, but however if u go for interstellar first u cannot watch any other space movies, it's the top notch

2001 space odyssey was a chore to watch, it's like watching a space mission today, long and boring, people say it is a piece of art, yeah back in 1968 when space was a mysterious thing, yes nice models and scientific accuracy, but boring to watch.
