I won't count Blackhawk down as the movie is not about seals. its about Rangers and Delta operators. I dont think there were any seals in the movie. -
Here are my top 5 with some Honorable mentions-
1. Lone Survivor-
2. Act of Valor-
3 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi-
4. American Sniper-
5. Tears of the Sun-
My Honorable Mentions:
6. Terminal List
7. Captain Phillips
8. Navy Seals (with Charlie Sheen)
9. Tom Clancy's: Without Remorse
10. The Finest Hour

I would put Navy SEALS, G. I Jane, and Black Hawk Down on the list also.
The real story of Lone Survivor is that Marcus Luttrell threw his rifle down and ran. Lone Survivor is based on lies. That ruins the movie for me! I feel that the definitive Navy SEAL has not been made yet. I really really want a well written, well acted big budget Navy SEAL movie!

If you love watching movies with -real- CQB. Go watch the series -seal team-.
I have done my fair share of CQB in my life. And I can tell, they put ALOT of work into nailing it.
Apart from all the hollywood drama and the every now and then hollywood over dramatic action scenes.
Its quite enjoyable to watch from a professional aspect.

#3 the rock, the movie where the entire seal team is wiped out! ol
#1 lone survivor a terrible based on true events film where they inserted too many things to still be based on true events lol
$200 the maker of this list didnt watch any of these movies and simply ranked them based on critic ratings.

In my opinion, the evolution and effects of the combat soldier is best represented by American Sniper following the man, Lone Survivor & 13 hrs for the teams, 12 Strong, Black hawk down or Battle 360. Each have a place to be considered. Always support our Men & Women in harms way!

i was sad about lone survivor, after reading the book, knowing hollywood could have done it JUST LIKE THE BOOK but instead they changed it. like they do to all good stories.
read the book and see how it would have been even more epic had they stuck to the book.

I was able to watch 3 out of 4 (I refuse to acknowledge -The Rock- as a SF movie) and they all hurt a little more as I went but just haven't been able to watch -Act of Valor- yet, maybe never.

someone who had 2nd hand experience with the lone survivor event said that there were only 12 afghans who engaged with the 4 seals. not an entire battalion.

American Sniper was such an awful, cliche ridden movie. Don't care that Clint directed it. It was soul crushing awful, on a level with The Hurt Locker.

While I love 4 of the 5, The Rock should not be on this list! It should be 13 Hours or 12 Horses. I also think Actv of Valor should be #1

Lone Survivor is in a class of its own. The acting was superb and the handling of the weapons and use of small unit tactics were spot on

The Rock isn't a SEAL MOVIE. Unless you count the 10-15 minutes of the film. Tears (in or of) the Sun should replace the Rock.

Without Tears of the Son this list is obsolete. Act of Valor alone should disqualify this list. Absolute trash movie

The Finest Hour (1992) Rob Lowe- kinda corny but a lot of training scenes. Not sure how accurate though.
