We don't have to make it some big secret. fanjoy: Thank you for making this video! I personally didn't think I was going to make it past 21. I was nineteen, almost down to 100 pounds, an alcoholic, pill popper, etc. it took me three more years to finally break that cycle. Almost three years after that, I even stopped drinking with friends and barely even drink beer nowadays, I have a great job, I'm a Teacher and my kids are a big part of why I'm even better today.
Unfortunately, you really can't make someone get help, and pushing it on them doesn't help either. All you can do is keep them in your thoughts, support them, and hope time will help them heal and recover.

What's wonderful about videos like these are that they smash the stereotype of what we are lead to believe a junkie is. It can be the person in the cubicle next to you, the person who grooms your dog, or someone really close to you. It's not always Steve Buscemi asking for a sausage mcmuffin at 10: 55 a. m.

This was really helpful. We have been dealing with this from the other side where we had to evict our sister from living with us due to her substance abuse and the fact we have a 2 year old. Sadly, she isnt ready for help so hearing all of their stories was so amazing.

Whether if its Alcohol, weed (which is safe) or whatever, the problem is that our generation is depressed. The high cost of living, student loan debt, low wages, not being able to own a house etc. thats why we turn to things that will numb us from the real world

I needed to see this. Someone so close to me is going through addiction, and every day I feel like theyre falling further and further away. Its hell, but as this persons family we have to ride out the storm and just await their return.

I work at a rehab center and I'm so happy to see these people overcome addiction if you're struggling with addiction please try a detox center even if it takes you 3 or even 5 times. Your insurance might cover the whole stay.

Love that you guys did this video. People think people who are addicts are scum and showing them what its like to get better Im in recovery and I hate people who judge me when I tell them Im a recovering addict

I am coming up on a year (again) this month. Grateful that as a company with such a large audience Buzzfeed chose to address this topic. Sure wish we saw more meaningful content like thjs more frequently.

Thank you so much for using this platform to destigmatize this disease and showing it affects everyone. This was so brave and meaningful to me, I connected with so much and am so grateful you did this.

I absolutely identify with the realization that I need to actually be present in my kids lives and my own life. I needed to see everything around me instead of being focused solely on myself. Be strong!
