OK, somewhat jarring seeing I'm mostly European. Wasn't expecting that at all. I always knew my mother is Spanish on her father's side but of my 7 siblings, I came out the darkest complected and have an obvious Latino appearance, whereas members of my family can pass as White and have much fairer skin. I took after my father's side which, based on photos of his parents, is of mostly Indigenous heritage.
So funny how one develops a whole identity and perception of themselves based on the traits that separate them into the category of other and all focus goes to those traits as if only they define you. Then you find out you have a significant European admixture and suddenly you can't stop noticing those traits in you that are obviously European. I realized I always noticed them subconsciously but was conditioned to focus on the ones that made me different.
It's sort of magical how a simple confirmation of your racial makeup suddenly somehow gives you permission to see yourself as the mutt that you really are!

I've never really been interested in doing one of these, because my immediate family doesn't have any real ties or traditions to other cultures. We aren't very connected to our past. All I know is that my family has been in America a long time and my family's surname is German.

even though i'm mixed i don't feel like my results will be all that interesting. Mom is Brazilian so i'm expecting european and indigenous. Dad is Indian so obviously south asia and india

Alot of mexicans dont really think of themselves as part white/black or part native. They focus on their nationality but with their actual race they just dont know or dont care.
