I actually watch another video on Native Indians and it literally brought me to tears. And I as a black person was like omg I'm not help or doing even the bare minimum. I grew up having Thanksgiving. um I'm not doing that anymore. And i wanted to on that day do something with the Native Indians in my state. But upon research came to understand they were run out of Ohio. If anyone knows differently please let me know. As I see i will have to go to neighboring states to meet with those communities, and I'm willing to do that. But its really sad Ohio doesn't have maybe those communities anymore.

Everytime I would watch a movie or show that had a historical Native American person I would read the books based off of the facts that actually happened. For example I LOVED watching the movie Pocahontas because I thought they made a Disney princess that represented me. As I got older and learned more about history, I realized that wasn't true at all. I really hope they make a movie on the real representation of Pocahontas. I would even love to see Sacagawea.

I'm not sure about the facts in this video. Pocahontas married John Rolfe, not John Smith. And I can't speak for everyone, but I learned about Sacagawea in history class and studied more on my own time. She was one of the few indigenous people recognized in history. I understand not all people are given proper representation but that can change.

I wonder how they feel about made up tribes that don't represent real ones like Shopikwah from Stephen King's IT. Also as for the blonde in Kimmy Shmidt pretty sure Kalder shows not all Native Americans look like one. Its like people who have Hispanic but look white.

I think they were a little over critical yes the inaccuracies, but none of these are autobiographical. My parents let me and my siblings watch and corrected us accordingly so we would have the correct info. Especially since our family has more than one tribe in our bloodline.

I'm surprised they didn't include Sheriff Bishop from Siren. He's just a normal guy and average, loving dad, but at the same time his Haida heritage is brought up a lot. So his character isn't only based around being Native and he could be anyone, but it's still important.

I wish unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt had context. Her character tried everything to not be native, and do what her parents wanted, she wanted to just be white and she played that up. She s like 45 in her flashbacks where she s supposed to be like 16, It s literally a comedy.

I m Ojibwe and Ho-chunk, and those two tribes are both very different. Every single tribe is very different. Portraying Native Americans is very risky and you should try to have Native people help you. Research the tribe you are trying to portray!
