The EXACT Moment Captain America Became WORTHY- Full EXPLAINED in 6 Minutes Bambam: I disagree with your hypothesis, I believe Cap had always been worthy. His very nature made him worthy. His honor, his truthfulness and many other qualities that Steve Rogers had inherit in his nature. He was not proud, he stood his ground even when he was outmatched and he never gave up. These qualities were in Steve Rogers even before he got the super serum. The super serum (as explained by the man who created it) does not change there person it just enhances who they are. Thor on the other hand was -Not Worthy- and Odin says so in the scene where he strips Thor of his power. Odin then enchants the hammer, knowing Thor was not worthy at that point in time and would need to learn at a minimum, humility, before he could become worthy. In the MCU (because things were different in the comic books) the only reason Thor was able to use the hammer prior to that scene was because Odin had not yet put the enchantment of worthiness on the hammer. So I believe Cap was always worthy (at least at far back a we came to know him) and Thor became worthy once he learned humility and self-sacrifice. Remember physical appearance does not determine worthiness, if you are worthy to hold the hammer then you get the power of Thor. If this is not true then the upcoming changes of Thor being female, would make no sense.

Rodger's wasn't trying to lift the hammer to begin with. If you watch his grip the first pull it is very loose and slides in his grasp when he pulls trying to judge the hammer. But he clearly misjudged Mjolnir's weight when faking lifting it hence his grip immediately fully relaxes letting the hammer slip. He then resets his grip knowing how heavy the hammer is (34Kg) and gives a more convincing attempt as if trying harder knowing what he is dealing with.
The fact Thor noticed his little mistake was only because Thor was watching the hammer itself so closely.
Cap also is a grey area worthy as he fluctuates between worthy and not worthy. Times of war when his heart is tips over the edge and into worthy. But thats comic Cap, MCU Cap obviously plays by different rules.

Cap was always worthy. And his most important ability, more than super strength or throwing a physics-defying shield, is leadership. THAT is the -only- reason he didn't lift Mjolnir. I said it from the moment he moved it slightly. He -failed- to lift the hammer SOLELY to protect Thor's fragile ego. Steve knows that Thor needs to feel special in order to be an effective part of the team. It's more important to him that his team trusts him and is effective than that he gets to prove he's special, too. Because THAT's what heroes do!

There's a HUGE missed aspect in everyone I've seen try and explain this. Yes Cap has always been worthy but Thor has known it since Cap and Thor first met in Avengers. At there first meeting Thor strikes Cap's shield with Mjolnir. But it does nothing to Cap or the shield and instead send out a burst of energy. Because Cap was always worthy Mjolnir was unable to harm Cap, at that moment he was lifting Mjolnir. You can see right afterwards that Thor is very confused by this, at that moment he suspected Cap was worthy.

About the reason why keeping a dark secret does not make one unworthy, I'm not really convinced by your arguments: Odin doesn't need to be worthy, he is the Father of all things (look, Hela could hold Mjolnir, how in hell is she worthy.
To me, a much simpler argument is that revealing the truth about the death of the Starks may have been honesty towards his friend Tony, but a terrible treason towards his friend Bucky. So keeping the secret was obviously the best thing to do for his friends.

Yeah this was my thoughts as well, you pretty much covered all the bases. The only thing I would say is it-s not necessarily a -moment- he becomes worthy. He would-ve always been willing to leap on a grenade to save a bunch of people, it-s simply his character. The traits are just who he is, so maybe the best way to say it is maybe as he matured and developed these characteristics, he was worthy.

I thought it was the moment he abandoned his love and his life and said I will die to save them when he crashed the bomber into the ice because tony did something similar to the Grenade in avengers 1 with the nuke but a slightly different way, but cap came to peace with it immediately after saying goodbye to Peggy, even in his -last moments- (or so he thought) he spent it comforting her

At least 5 Medal of Honor recipients received the award for falling on a grenade. During WWII, MOH was not awarded for non-battle actions, so this gesture was not even for glory. Instead, he would be dead for saving the fellow recruits who were at best indifferent and worst a bully like Hodges.

Tony Stark literally save half of universe by sacrificing his life, why his not worthy? He save a lot of people many times, and at any time he got a close call, just lucky to survive all the way to finale, but he's still not worthy.
Can you do a video about Tony worthiness?

reply

He was worthy from the start.
When he was asked why he wanted to enlist. The doctor asked if he wanted to kill Nazi. His answer was he didnt want to kill anyone. He just didnt like bullys.
In winter soldier he disobeyed orders because those orders would attack peoples freedoms
