Why Avengers: Infinity War Feels Like a Better Movie Than Endgame

Firstly, using the Depression angle to justify what Thor is like in Endgame is an idea I-m sympathetic to but the movie absolutely does not treat this with proper gravity. Everything about it is a joke.
Second, we HAVE seen Thor depressed and it-s not a slothful slob, but a blood lusted Viking warlord. Having Thor embrace Stormbreaker as his new unbalanced weapon as a king (with no ability to build as Mjolnir had AND calling back to Hela-s comment about kings and executioners) would have been more effective. A depressed Thor looks like a cosmic scale Ronin Hawkeye.
Lastly, Frigga was portrayed as a wise and excellent mother and good Moms may meet their son in Thor-s position with compassion but not pride. Thor isn-t all he could be, but moreover he-s not even all he was. No good Mom says -It-s okay, son. Avoid all responsibility and go on a cosmic road trip until you-re all better. - Ugh.
It-s all bad.

I'm going to offer a different perspective, rather simply, on your -logic versus emotion- argument. Endgame tries to be more of a drama than infinity war so therefore in it's setup, relies much more heavily on exposition. Exposition vs impact. Too much exposition can take the audience out of the film. To use emotion here doesn't always work, it didn't for me in Endgame (as well) because of exposition vs impact. There was 2 hours of setup for the final hour that almost felt completely separate. Regardless on how much you love the characters. That's a lot of setup. Too much can take the audience emotionally out of the film, a problem that Infinity War did not have. Impact: Infinity War had MUCH more emotional shock value. We all knew Iron Man and Cap would depart the universe after Endgame. We did NOT know in Infinity War that Thanos would win and wipe half of the universe out of existence. That shock value holds heavy emotional weight that yes, does transfer over to Endgame. But the silent cinema screen in all 4 of my viewings of Infinity War definitely prove that it had just as much an emotional impact. Shock value versus payoff. Both are equally as resonant when utilised correctly.

I feel that the Iron Man vs Thanos battle is underrated, especially when compared to Captain America vs Thanos. Stark, who has spent the past 6 years of his life preparing for Thanos, making suits and even (evil) AIs just to prevent this purple boi. Thanos was his bane, and they had some sort of connection, through similarities and what they have done to affect each other. Their one but main similarity is being futurists, yet both their agendas were affected by one another; Stark stopped Thanos- invasion while Thanos gave Stark PTSD, causing him to make defenses that would defend Earth.
On the other hand, Thanos has little connection to Cap, only knowing him as the leader of the heroes who stopped his plans. Hell, there was a deleted scene where Thanos beheaded 2014 cap and threw the head to 2023 IM, CA, and Thor. Sure, they had a moment in Infinity War. Thanos saw Steve-s will and heart when he was holding back his hand. Other than that, not much of a connection compared to Tony Stark. Anyways, all three characters are awesome.

for me it's because the End Game has that weird scene were all the girls helping captain marvel like why? she is literally just destroying the mother ship by herself, Okoye beat Corvus Glaive when even vision get beaten up by him, and when everyone having a hard time on infinity war figthing Thanos minion before Thor came to help with his new weapon in this End Game somehow even Shuri who more like thinker type survive fighting at the front row i know we have more man power in this end game but still, how could this skinny girl survive when even his brother and peter parker who are using instan kill still having a hard time to firght back.

If I had to put it, Endgame is amazing to an MCU fan because it-s full of references to older movies and pays of a lot of pre established arcs from older films, but it wouldn-t have much value to someone who hasn-t watched many MCU films, like they wouldn-t understand many of the locations or places visited in the time heist sequence. Infinity war, while also filled with fan service, can stand on its own as a film as its directors give enough scenes to pre established characters that give you a sense of what sort of person they are, so if someone had never seen an MCU film they could still probably enjoy Infinity War.

Endgame was more of an experience which triggers nostalgia in you! That's why I loved it. The scenes are something which actually give a perfect end to what the whole journey was all about.
Only person who has seen the pequel movie in that period of time when it were released would relate to endgame and would enjoy endgame to fullest.
Those who came to watch endgame just because it was a growing trend won't find it interesting.
While on the other hand infinity war was more about newer Marvel movies and new characters and didn't have much influence of prequels on it.

Infinity War was better for me. Because all the characters interacted with one another. We will never get to see Iron man interact with Gamora, Groot, Valkyrie, Wasp and Captain America with Starlord, Drax, Mantis, Doctor Strange. I mean I like seeing them interacting and insulting with one another and progresses into trusting one another in the end. That's what drives me to watch and anticipate more MCU films in the future. It just gives a better perspective that the writers acknowledge all these characters are in one universe.

Infinity War was better for me. Because all the characters interacted with one another. I prefer Infinite War. How could people say Infinite War has only actions and is not emotional? I love the scenes Thanos threw Gomora off the cliff with tears in his eyes, had dream of his -little one- after making the snap. I love this Thanos with feelings. Not to mention half of heroes died at the end, Peter Parker died in the arms of Tony. Besides, Thor is so damn badass in Infinite War. The storyline of him making stormbreaker axe is cool. People cheering for his showing up in Wakanda.

Endgame is clearly much better than Infinity War. It develops the characters well, giving even the oldest charaters a fresh spin. Its emotionally much heavier than Infinity War ever was. People who prefer Infinity War over Endgame just do so for the flashy action and fights, they don't care about good writing.

According to me, Infinity war was just to show how powerful Thanos is. And Endgame was to show that the Avengers don't stop any limits to save the world. And also, Endgame was the answer to a lot of questions from almost all the previous MCU movies. And it was also the beginning of the new MCU.
